    why arent more rogues using combat to pvp?

    i just found out to my horror that rogues can 1 shot clothie using killing spree... in fact i died to that multiple times in front of icc when rogue just dismount midflight and killed me with KSpree.

    why arent more rogues combat then? imagine if u 1 shot someone in arena and the count is now 3v2, thats a massive advantage...

    In a PvP scenario where both parties have some amount of resilience you won't be able to one-shot with Killing Spree, however you'll be able to kill them through stunlock combo that Sub provides and enhances. Sub also has a lot more control over the fight than Combat does.

    Unlike you in front of ICC, clothies in arena have at least 1k resilience(so at least 20% dmg reduction), talents that reduce damage and/or defensive cds to counter that one button wonder class.
    After KS combat is pretty easy to deal with, so nobody who is serious in any way plays him in competitive arenas.

    I did se 1 comp long time ago that had Sub rogue Mostly PvP geared, around 4-5 PvE pieces, and a Combat Rogue partner with 6,5k PvE.
    That was the nastiest damage comp I've ever seen, If I didn't HoP my Warrior partner within 2 Seconds he was dead, I had to Trinket the sap or it was a loss, Killing spree and Ambush spam from sub was the highest burst damage I ever saw in my 2k Arena games I did.
    But we did counter it and after that initial burst the combat rogue was dead within seconds aswell, Combat has a hard time surviving in PvP, sub is much better all around.

    I guess you never had the pleasure of dying to 10k Chaos Bolt + 10k Starfire combo while Starfall is melting your hp faster than you can blink.


    But we did counter it and after that initial burst the combat rogue was dead within seconds aswell, Combat has a hard time surviving in PvP, sub is much better all around.
    Any combo with prot pala is counter to stealth setups no matter what they have. Even prot warr, but you have to time everything much better if you want to win.

    Just as information u can use BoP to your arena mate when u are sapped

    Combat doesn't have reliable pvp tools in wotlk. The only pvp tool is deadly throw interrupt and maybe surprise attacks.

    Killing spree can't be used single target until 5.4, so you break cc and in 1v1 damage is gimped vs pet classes.

    Not idea how double healer + combat works in wotlk, but gonna guess works better with warrior because wotlk reasons


    Combat peak comes with WoD because 8 secs kidney plus the shadow talent that duplicates your actions, so 12 secs stun and unpeeelable burst.
    Interrupt deadly throw is viable in WOD again because combo points aren't attached to target but rogue. Again, reliable things.

    So the shadow dance cc kill target plus cc chain off target plus damage is more useful than combat and assasinations tools in theory.

    In late wotlk a lot of things "work" because itemization is overturned, join lucky crits and you have specs like boomkin. Even in that scenario, combat isn't optimal compared to other melee specs imo.

  8. In wotlk enhance + combat 2v2 is pretty fun and viable, but there aren't many comps that can make combat work in arena.
