Some Noob Questions: PvP during quest / gathering allowed ? need for 2 specs ?

Hello guys,

Questions are simple.
1. Is pvp allowed during quests or while gathering ores and herbs for professions ?
2. Is rolling need for 2 specs in rdf allowed ?

Every time I see an ore I want it and try to get it. Sometimes one of the enemy fraction is on his/her way also.
My friend, who is a paladin, stuns the enemy and take the ore (without killing the player) and than leaves.
Also:
During Quests I see both fractions holding their hands (literally) and questing together.

The Story, better said the reason why I post this in here....
So My friend and me hit lvl 80 last week. We are gearing up in rdf dungeons and while we're in the queue, we do some quests and profession. 3 Days ago we started the "Sons of hodir" quest-chain. We ignored every enemy and they ignored us, except this one Rogue. He didn't stopped and we all died several times (rogue died like 7 times).
5 Minutes later a sm retri and a warrior were ganking us. We couldn't finished the Quest. Even after 20 minutes (one rdf dungeon later) they were both there just focusing us and we were forced to stop. (We finished the quest yesterday, though).

There was a Saronite Ore near the Sons of Hodir quest mobs and I saw an enemy fraction player mining it.... I started to attack him and killed him.
1 minute later I got a privat whisper with the following line: "When you want pvp queue for Battlegrounds" and I should shut up.

Question 2: Is rolling need for 2 specs in rdf allowed ?
It happens every time. An Elemental Shaman rolls need for armor penetration mail items. The Tank is rolling need for Plate DD items is this allowed ?
allowed ... stupid question I guess. But as far I know you roll need for your first spec and greed for your second spec unless you said it in the beginning that you, as a tank, rolls need for dd items and the group have to accept it... am I right ?
So when you can roll on both specs, can I as a hunter roll need for mail spellpower Items,... you know for my "pet heal equip" hahahaha, joking.

I know this is only rdf or some 239 item lvl equip are you allowed to roll need for both of your specs ? What can we do when our Tank rolls need for Tank / Heal and DD plate items (even when there is a holy pala and a retri pala in raid) ?
Our Tank won the 2h weapon in PoS and I could hear the keyboard smashing of my paladin friend miles away :D

1 Rolling need on a OS item in RDF is considered Ninja unless everyone agrees it's ok, So the person in question who needs, MUST ask the party before, andif someone sais "No I want my enchant material" you have to pass, otherwise it's considered ninja and Warmane staff will ban thatperson if the proper evidence is provided, se http://forum.warmane.com/showthread.php?t=325598 for more info about that.

2 PvP is allowed anywhere you can PvP basicly, it's a PvP server, if you are anywhere open world you are exposed to it, The person in question who wispered you are the reason gankers do what they do, They just love to se those salty tears.

In addition to what Disktrasa said, I would like to say the following. Think of wpvp for ores. herbs or wtv as competition, where the more powerful or cunning player gets to claim the prize. If you had played in a PVE server, then the game wouldn't have allowed you to hit players from the enemy faction and farming materials would have followed the "first come, first served" concept. But in a PVP server you can interact with them in a lot of ways - you can kill or immobilize enemies (like your friend did) and then farm in peace. But this applies to 1v1 situations. Now imagine, that you are fighting an enemy player all by yourself, you manage to overwhelm them, but suddenly a new one swoops down, kills you and farms the node. I can give another example - imagine how you are clearing the area from mobs and a player from your own faction comes and takes the vein. Those cases are also allowed.

Generally speaking, everything, which doesn't break the in-game rules, is allowed. You can read more about them here:
