WotLK Recovering guild name

A couple of years back I registered a guild charter and then forgot to get the 10 people to sign on it. Now 2 years later the character that registered that name doesn't even exist anymore and when I tried to create a guild with the same name it tells me it already exists. Is there any chance to liberate that name or do I have to come up with a new name?

Check the armory first, maybe the name is used in an active guild.
