I'm new to the game.

Well that's for sure sounds stupid. And it is. To be honest, I'm not 100% new, I played some demos and stuff
came from broken russian servers where I only did PvE.
I like the fantasy world of WoW and I'd like to explore the world in the first place, doing regular quests and stuff
untill I get to dungeons and PvP things.

Simple question - is it worth it? Playing WoW in 2020. And specifically here, since it's not official server with donations.

Well, it depends on what do you mean by "worth". Did the game get clunky after all these years and is now mechanically behind new MMOs? Definitely not. Most of the ppl playing here will tell you it's even better than retail wow, since Wotlk is one of the greatest expansions. It balances getting things handed to you on a golden plate and getting smashed in the head with the mentioned plate very well.
Only thing that may not be too pleasant for you is lack of knowledge of the game/expansion. It is an old game, people usually know how to play it and since you are new you will probably get some hate on yourself from less patient players. But don't worry about these kind of guys, take your time, find yourself some friends in-game / friendly guild and you'll become good in no time :)

PS. If you wonder if it is worth investing time in this private server then yes, it is. Warmane is not like most of the private servers these days, it does not die after 1-2 years of being up. It's been running for a very long time and considering amount of people online on each of the servers - it is not going anywhere any time soon.
