You can buy 264 ilvl legs and feet from BS. Other than that you should farm voa10/voa25 every week for chance on t10 drop, try getting into raids (toc, icc10), save up emblems of frost to complete your 4t10 set.. and thats pretty much it.. only source of upgrades will e raiding at that point. Try to get into good guild.
JWC is good, once you farm a lot of materials with mining you can swap mining to engineering or blacksmithing for best combo (jwc + eng/bs). Eng has on use haste and movement speed boost. BS gives you 2 more sockets. Engineering is tiny bit better because you can stack it with other CDs, but BS is always active and extremely close.
In this patch there are few "steps" in gearing up, generally:
1. Naked
2. EoT gear (tier 9)
3. EoF gear (tier 10)
4. Best in Slot
##########
2. Farm Emblem of Triumph - to get 4 parts of T9 set(usually RDF HC spam all day). Icecrown dungeons(FOS/POS/HOR) are nice to equip slots that you cant get for EoT, also somewhat nice EoT farm). Crafting/buying Blackmithing items is great too, but optional as a new player - quite expensive. This will bring you to somewhere around 5k gs.
3. Next step is to farm every Emblem of Frost possible - to buy T10 set. You will need 310 EoF to buy 4 parts of T10 set.
Here is a list of every possible EoF you can get each week:
14 - Random Daily dungeon (2 EoF each day)
5 - Weekly quest (eg "Sartharion Must Die!", but it has a lot's of versions, can do 1 quest 1 time each week)
2 - Vault of Archavon 10man toravon boss (nice chance to get T10 pant's or gloves, save huge amount of EoF grind)
2 - Vault of Archavon 25man toravon boss (nice chance to get T10 pant's or gloves, save huge amount of EoF grind)
30 - Icecrown Citadel 10man (2 from each boss, 1 from Svalna and 5 from quest inside)
30 - Icecrown Citadel 25man (2 from each boss, 1 from Svalna and 5 from quest inside)
5 - Ruby Sanctum 10 (1 from each miniboss, 2 from Halion)
5 - Ruby Sanctum 25 (1 from each miniboss, 2 from Halion)
What you will need to do:
- Read a guide about your class/spec so you know what spells to use, talents, glyphs, what gear you need, what your spec is supposed to do in a raid, etc.
- Read a tactics/mechanics guide about ICC and RS. So you know what spells each boss is using, what tactics raid can use to kill him, what and when you are supposed to do what. After you do that, watch some videos and you will start to see why players are doing what they are doing. With some practice you will be able to connect this with you actually playing in game - and do great.
4. You have nice full T10 set, probably some nice other items from ICC 10 and 25. Approx 5.5 - 5.8 GS. What's left now is to farm ICC and RS 25 every week, do more bosses on Heroic every week. Get those nice Best in slot items, repeat until you are 6.9k GS.
Oh and most important step - find a guild that suits you, raid time, what they are raiding. Probably some "progression" guild is the best for you, so you can grow together with them. With random PUGs from global is practically impossible to do this, with them you end at step 3 and even that will take months and months.
Yes, you will need those enchants, these ones you can't buy from other players
Shoulder enchant:
you need to get Reputation with Sons of Hodir. But there is a trip there, since you have to do quests to even see quartermaster vendor. Buying rep for EoT wont work. Quest starts in Storm Peaks, K3 goblin village. One of the goblins will give you quest "They took our men!", just follow the chain from there. You will be exalted from those quests.
Head enchant:
You will need to do quest in Shadow Vault in Icecrown zone. It starts on your faction airship that flies around in Icecrown zone(you can start it from 1 step before that sends you to ship, take it in Dalaran, Krasus Landing(near flight path)). Quest is called "It's all fun and games", maybe for alliance it's called differently idk. Follow that chain and you will be able to see quartermaster vendor there, but you will probably lack reputation(buy tabard and farm RDF with it equipped I guess).
