WotLK Guild stolen thanks to Warmane staff

Hi Warmane,

I had a guild with a guild bank full of my ****. I don't use it much, it was supposed to "hold" items for future alts, friends etc. I also kept another guy from the old guild (it used to be a functioning guild back in the day) who stopped playing the game (and I didn't kick him because I figured he might return and get in touch).

Today, I checked the guild bank and to my surprise, all the items were gone. And I'm no longer a guild master. This inactive guy in the guild somehow assumed control and simply stole everything :D the guild is full of his alts, he is active again. But there is no way he got the Guild Master rank without a Warmane staff intervention.

How is this even possible? How can you let this happen? I understand that you run the servers, but that doesn't mean you can do whatever you want with our items, guilds etc. We have to abide the rules and in return, you just do whatever you want? I don't get it. Tens of thousands of gold GONE because of your unjustifiable move.

Please, explain this to me. I can provide details if necessary.

Thanks for the wake-up call. I have a bank guild where I invited some guy some time ago because he told me he liked the name. I did not see any harm. I will kick him out now.

Edit: that guy lost his name in one of the inactivity clean-ups and I can't kick him out. Thanks Molten!

In case of unavailability of dethrone feature you can PM Head GM to have guild master transfered if requirements are met (90+ days of guild master inactivity on regular realms or 60+ days on progression, having rank 2-4 in guild).

If you have not logged on the guild master character for more than 90 days, the rules are on his side and he could have done that. If that's not the case, you can try sending a private message to Head GM and explain the situation: http://forum.warmane.com/member.php?username=Aldtharios

Warmane staff can and will transfer guild ownership if requested by an officer in the guild only when you've been AFK for more than 3 months or something like that on your guild master toon.
I doubt you'll get anything back if that's what you're after.

it is possible to gain guild leadership if the guild master has been offline for enough days (I do not remeber if 30, 60 or 90 days) by contacting a Game Master

Yeah what other people are saying. This was actually a rule in retail as well. Long period of inactivity by a gm means someone else of certain rank can assume control.

This tool was not introduced before Cataclysm if I remember correctly; anyway, my inactivity period was not longer than 90 days and I got no explanations from the GMs in-game. According to them, there is nothing they can do. It's frustrating, I don't know what lies had this "guild-mate" of mine fed them, but they certainly didn't hesitate to use the dethrone thingy without checking the inactivity period. Even saying sorry would make it better. But simply ignoring the fact that something went wrong sucks. Viva l'Anarchia I guess.

I was hoping to get some explanation, all I got is a big fat "we cannot be held accountable for our actions, sorry not sorry". Shame on the system that allows abuse of power. To be clear, I don't expect to get anything back at this point. Beware, adventurers.

It isn't a tool, it's a service we provide, and which is described in our rules, which you are assumed to know and understand. For GMs to have passed ownership, the inactivity on the Guild Master character was 90+ days, yes. It doesn't matter if you're active on other accounts or characters. As we got to a point where you're just trying to shift the blame of your own carelessness onto us, this thread is being locked.
