Got a random mail verification from an IP that wasn't Mine
Hello,
Today i got a random notification on e-mail (for a two way authentication) that a login was a requested from an ip that definitely wasn't me. Ofc i changed the password immediately but i would like to ask if this has happened to anyone else or should i be concerned about someone knowing the credential (or even somehow them being leaked ) . I 've never shared my account with anyone else so the only one that knows the info is me
If on website = yes, you need to be careful and changing your pssw was a good idea
If in-game = the request of code is done before the "password" check. So they have only your account name. You do not need to be scared that much (as long as you keep 2-step enabled)
The e-mail for the two way verification had a titled:
"Your Warmane account: Access from new location"
which i believe is the for the in-game access, correct me if i am wrong thought.
When i tried to login from e.g. a different browser on the site (firefox) i received the following mail for verification
"Your Warmane account: Access from new browser or location" Which i believe refers to case #1 as you mentioned.
So in conclusion since i got the in--game request i believe , per your sayings, that i am safe, but i am just curious does this happens a lot? I mean bruteforcing names and passwords in hope they find a vulnerable account? Cause still even if it is only the username it's kind of shocking
I got the same, few times last week. Today again, even after I changed my password last week.
Does it happen when they enter correct username AND password? Because now I question if our passwords are safe since I changed mine last week and it happened again.
Also, all IPs that tried to access are from China...
I received notice on 2 of my accounts on the 6th (of January) of the same thing. I ran a WhoIs and both of the IPs showed as coming from China (an elementary school, go figure).
Thankfully, I have the 2-step verification.
I also received an email saying someone was trying to access my account from a new location on 1/11/2021. The IP address was in China too. Luckily I have 2 factor auth on. I checked ingame and my account seems safe. Seems weird that we all got that email trying to access our accounts from China. Can anyone from Warmane staff look into this?
Hi guys, got just right now same email.
I didn't log in for at least 10 months, so i believe you have some leak of usernames/passwords in your server lads.
Dear xx,
We've received a request to access your Warmane account from a new location.
The following IP Address is making the request: 36.34.13.133
