1. Saving the Christmas ([What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been] major bug)

If you're trying to get your hands on a new shiny rare mount present at the New Year, this information my come as an unpleasant surprise. Due to the bug with the quests in Ogri-La, some players can't get the quest [Bomb Them Again!] required to complete the [Fa-la-la-la-Ogri'la] achievement, ultimately making the [What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been] meta-achievement impossible to complete. This bug seems to be present for only a fraction of players, as I've talked to many people who have access to it, and i currently have not identified the reason of it happening. There was some reports about that problem, and for a time PencilPusher dealt with it on per-player basis, but after his retirement there doesn't seem to be someone managing it.

I decided to make this post — after a month of trying to resolve the situation on my own — to rise the community awareness of that problem and try to find a solution collectively. There is still some time before the NY event, so there is still a chance to prevent the looming catastrophe.

    What can you do?

    1) Test if you're affected. Try getting the quest in question (ha) like it is described here: www.wowhead.com/achievement=1282/fa-la-la-la-ogrila#comments:id=922739
    2) Post any relevant information in this thread.

Thank you for your time <3

  2. I can confirm that during last year the achievement was doable. I was able to do the [What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been] from last October till this one, so i guess you are having false information :)

My character name is Ogiboogy and the achievement was completed without any issues.

  3. Thank you for the reply =)

I've stated in the original post that it's the character/account specific bug affecting only certain accounts/characters. I've talked with both sides, those who can get it and those who can't. One of the reasons why I started this thread was to determine the widespreadness of the issue.

  4. Update: I checked the quests today, and it was available! I don't know what changed, but now it's ok. I cleared the Cache (once again) and talked to an ogre that should give the quest [The Skyguard Outpost] — he had it, and it allowed me to continue the questline. If someone still has this problem, try clearing the Cache (even if you did it already and it didn't help) and checking again.
