WotLK Blackrock - Can't retrieve characters with deleted names

Hi, I recently logged in after a longer break on Blackrock and found that a lot of my characters had their names removed. I read the wipe thread and what's supposed to happen is I should be able to rename the characters. I only get a "login failed" message instead of character rename prompt. Any way to go about this? thanks
