Since blizzard is releasing crossfaction to help faction balance starting from patch 9.2 I think it would be beneficial for warmane aswell. Pet's be real dungeon que rates for lorderon is pretty messed up taking 1h to wait in ques while it could be fixed by raising the ammount of players capable of it ( making crossfaction dungeons). I believe it could help new players enjoy leveling more by introducing more active content and since there are many casuals just doing random heroics with friends, it would make them more fluent game experience. Is there a chance of this happening ?
Realm isn't THAT low pop to need cross faction raiding and dungeons. It's currently only active on MoP where there's 300 people. I play Lordaeron and I've never waited for longer than 30 minutes in RDF. I don't think this is needed.
The population of factions is very well balanced in our servers currently, nothing like what's happening on retail.
It isn't even a matter of being needed, but of being more than likely pointless for reducing queue times. This is the same as people who suggest cross-server dungeons and raids. People seem to think that suddenly there would be shorter queue times because more people, but fail to realize the long waits don't happen due to a lack of people. It happens because most people want to play DD, not Tanks or Healers. Adding the population of the other faction (or another server) wouldn't change that. You wouldn't only get more Tanks and Healers to fill your bloated numbers of DDs, you would get their DDs queuing and taking "your" Tanks and Healers as well. Best case scenario nothing changes, worst case the queues get even longer from all the extra DDs in the same queue now.
Hi @Obnoxious;
I see clearly in your post that you do not foresee cross-faction group finder; however, the Season 3 post mentions it at the bottom of the bullet points. Does this represent a change in Warmane's stance regarding CF Groups, or am I mistaken?
I have been trying to find information on how it works; however, the bullet point doesn't elaborate. Would you mind pointing me in the direction of more information?
Thank you!
No, I wouldn't say it's a stance change. As you point out yourself, that's something happening on Frostmourne, a server that had a growing imbalance favoring Horde as the last season went on, and which players pointed out could get worse with the server going PvE for Season 3. Could it be eventually implemented on the other servers eventually? Sure, but more as a matter of it's coded and working so why not, than because it would have the effect expected with this suggestion of reducing queue times. Those are only going to really improve when a much larger number of players play Tanks and Healers over DDs, so... never.
