I've been toying with a different build for unholy pvp and I quite like the results. It's especially good with Spriest in 2vs2 arena, I call it Drain/Proc DK. So here goes:
The main weakness of DK's in this expansion is single-target burst and the lack of a MS effect. What most DK's do in pvp is maximize their offensive stats (Str/AP/Crit/ArmorPen) for maximum pressure and a very strong gargoyle, though that doesn't eliminate the problem at it's core. Our strikes still suck vs mail & plate and our gargoyle is inherently weak due to it being killable/cc'd/los-ed. Having a lot of Str improves our diseases/DC/strikes, but doesn't provide actual ways for delivering good burst - you're essentially locked in an Aff Lock play style by design.
To change this I've combined Bryntroll, Sigil of the Vengeful Heart and most importantly Rune of Cinderglacier instead of Fallen Crusader, while the rest of the gear is mostly Wrathful + AV Ring + 2xDV trinkets (If human).
The logic is as follows:
1.Bryntroll - has a chance to proc from all strikes, no ICD, scales with talents (Black Ice, EPB) and heals us. The proc itself is shadow damage, so armor is not a problem here. It deals damage at the same time as the strike that triggered it, so in essence ∼2.2k SS + ∼2.4k drain = ∼4.8k damage in a single GCD. It also helps that the weapon procs very often.
2.Vengeful Heart - No explanation needed here I think, this sigil makes DC a lot stronger compared to SoVirulence, and DC is our hardest hitting ability, which also ignores armor due to it being shadow damage.
3.RoCinderglacier - This is the final piece that makes this combo OP. I would compare this to Rune of the Fallen Crusader as I would compare SotVH to SoV.
In theory the 15% Str of FC is OP, but if you compare the damage DC deals with FC and Cinderglacier, the latter blows away the former. That's not all though - to fully utilize RoCinderglacier it has to be properly used and this is where it starts to shine.
So the way RoC works is that when it procs you get 2xstacks lasting 20 secs which increase the damage of your next 2xFrost/Shadow spells - in our case almost always DC - but as long as you have at least 1 stack left on you ALL shadow/frost damage is increased by 20%. That means your diseases, your SS shadow portion, your Bryntroll procs and DC's all benefit from it. Basically I can get ∼3k bryntroll procs on high-geared targets and ∼4.5-5k DC's depending on my trinket procs and that's on plate! Combine that with Corpse Exp and profit.
The rest of the gear is pretty basic, you can check it out here: http://armory.warmane.com/character/...ecrown/summary
So far I'm really enjoying this build, I'm curious what's your opinion.
