Try to include such "insignificant" details like: your realm, yours and friends gear (possible heirlooms), your recent actions, etc.

Is it possible that you inadvertently changed your experience rate by right-clicking the experience bar?

If you do not have an experience bar at all, it is possible that you talked to Behsten or Slahtz and stopped your experience gains. You have to talk to them again (which one depends on your faction).

Have you locked your level? Have you changed your EXP rate by mouse 2 clicking on experience bar? Is he lvling in Icecrown/Frostmourne and you're in Lordaeron?
