1. Make all flying mounts 310% if you already have a 310% speed mount

One of the craziest achievements in this version of the game is to acquire 100 mounts. It's insane to me that for a lot of us, one of those 100 mounts is the Violet Proto-Drake 310% speed mount. Why would anyone choose to ride the Dragonhawk mount when the Proto-Drake is clearly the best mount that most of the people who have obtained this achievement have? This reduces the Dragonhawk to another show-off mount at Krasus' landing.

The druid swift flight form already scales to 310% if you have a 310% speed mount. Why can't we make this standard for all mounts? I would love to have a Nether Ray or a Netherwing Drake at 310% speed, as long as you have obtained another 310% speed mount.

It wouldn't affect gameplay at all and would allow the players who have managed to get a 310% speed mount to use the mount that they prefer visually instead of what they must use practically.

  2. That would require client modification iirc. I also think it's pretty stupid.

Why would it be stupid? I'm not sure about client modification, but why would this be stupid? I think it's stupid to force people to use ugly albeit statistically superior mounts when you have other better looking mounts. This is why we have transmog.

If we have transmog, we should have variable speed mounts. There is NO gameplay advantage to having a better looking flying mount. If you have any armour/weapon transmog, you can disguise your ilvl for 1 second, which can be a big difference.

  4. No, I meant that it is stupid that Blizzard didn't normalise all mount speeds to 310%

  5. it does effect gameplay at some point. I have a 310% speed mount, farming mats is faster, because i see many players with 280% or lower speed fly mount. So some competition is there . Imagine Tawny wind rider (150% fly speed ) flying at 310% .

Read what the guy says dude - he is talking about scaling it if you already have a 310% mount. The model itself brings no advantage whatsoever.

  7. I would love to have a Nether Ray or a Netherwing Drake
Nether Drakes are 310% versions of the netherwing drakes - you can go purchase it in the store right now. But you would never do that if netherwing drakes scaled to 310% too, would ya? ;)

  8. Only if you add Items , Objects etc. But changing values should not affect it.

For example the ID from Server and Client is identical then all is fine.
But if you create a new item in the database of the Server then the client will not find it. You still can use the new item but it has no model. Hence your character has a invisible Weapon for example.

  9. Nice suggestion. Incoming poll.

  10. This way players can use their favorite mounts instead of the fastest they have. I love nether drakes but could never use them because they are slower. Good idea tbh, and it's purely cosmetic =)

Get in line, hippogryphs would like a word about oppression)

I agree with this. Nice idea.

  13. Gryphon

Not really. Armored Gryphon has always been my favorite mount, idgaf about the fancy ugly drakes. I have a big love rocket, a Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher, both of which are 310%, and on retail, if you learned the fastest flying skill, it made all flying mounts 310%. I like Gryphons because they're small and easy to see in front of and around me..when I got a big fat dragon on my screen, zooming out all the way doesn't exactly do it justice.....

yeah too big. zoomed all the way out.

just like I'd rather ride around on my HORSE when I ride into heroic pit of saron, rather than a brewfest kodo. I don't want a massive aggro radius pulling all that trash.
