WotLK Character's level lowered!

Signed off last night, in Stormwind, with a level 16 Mage. Sign in tonight with a level 13 Mage, near Goldshire with all my old quests in my log, bags missing, gear missing and my gold gone. Noticed the last time my folders within the WoW download stuff were last modified was today, February 10th between 9 & 10amET. Sign into this site and notice that Frostmourne got some updates/fixes today. Happen to anyone else? Is there a fix for this?

Sounds like you experienced a roll-back. Which can happen during server crashes/ maintenance etc.

Generaly these aren't that common.

Unfortunately there isn't anthing you can do to protect yourself from it.

It fixed itself. I went through the folders, clicked each to see what date/time they were modified. (That probably had no bearing on it, but I'll add it just in case it does.) I then restarted my computer, opened the folders back up then opened WoW. My character was back to level 16, all stuff returned.

I definitely believe it had something to do with whatever they performed earlier in the day, but somehow it went back.

***Yes, I logged out numerous times last night before I took the above steps. Logging out and logging back in did not work.
