WotLK Account hacked

Someone hacked my premium account, turned on two-factor authentication, all lvl 80 characters disappeared from the icecrown server.
Can characters be recovered?

Yes, for 10 points, my account > services and pick character restoration

I was more interested in helping the admin to get my characters back.

I don't understand how this could have happened during my 6 month absence from the server.

1. It is sub-forum where "players help players" if you read it. Admins, especially ones who can do something related to your characters/account in-game are rare guests here.
2. To get answer and maybe help from server staff - make proper ticket.
3. You've abandoned your account without any protective means for 6+ months and surprised that it was swept from all possible goods? Yeah...
