Technical VPN lower latency? can I be banned?

Hi,
So.. i live in New Zealand and the warmane server is on the other side of the world from me which means I've always played with 300ping, I want to try a paid VPN like cyberghost and try it out to see if I can lower it. I see there is a chance of being banned due to people hacking using VPN's, do I try it or do I not? I have years of playing and donations on the account so I would hate to be banned. But if it works pvp would be so much more enjoyable!

The bans on VPNs are mostly for free ones, that people abused exactly due to them being free. In general paid VPN services offer a trial period, so what you could do if you're worried is use that with a separate account. That's worth a shot not only for that, but because while VPNs can help with long-distance related high pings, how much they can do might often be less than you expected.

Thanks for the reply, yeah I will give that a go! Thats a good idea thanks!, I've heard mixed answers about them lowering ping, I'm not expecting to it go under 200 but even 250 would be better than 300-320 on a average that i have dealt with for years. Then again it might do absolutely nothing will have to try it out.

i tried it and tried quite a few servers, it gave me more latency! haha awell it was worth a go, thanks anyway i know now that it defiantly does not help
