today i accidentaly discovered that on retail wow you can get banned not only for ****talking but just inapropriate/vulgar or abusive language which is ridicilous and got me really angry and confused (https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comment...nable_offense/). it really now makes sense that back in the days when i tried retail people seemed sterile and boring. it looks like retail community managment team as well as community itself is full of snowflakes and karens.

As the comments there suggests, it was always bannable. It may have not been enforced that much, only in extreme cases. Random swear words here or there won't get you banned, it might be different if the swear words are directed at somebody.

Nothing surprising really. Big company wanting to keep its servers relatively toxicity free is good for business.
