1. Unreportable Issue?

So earlier today I got into a PvP scuffle over a mining area. A common occurrence, so no big deal on it's own. However, when I looked at my combat logs, there was zero information about the player I was fighting. I was curious as to what hit me for over 10k in an instant while wearing ~350 resilience gear. All I saw was everything else from before that, with no information about how I died. I figured this was weird, so I opened a ticket. I was told that I need to provide a screenshot. Ummmm, okay, a screenshot of *what* exactly? The combat log that showed nothing for my death? How are the GMs supposed to know that I'm showing a lack of information in such a screenshot? So, I opened a follow-up asking for the methodology they would prefer, as a screenshot that showed nothing for how I died doesn't seem very productive. The response I got was that, again, a screenshot is necessary. This is literally impossible to show, kind of like showing a picture of not a 10 foot tall pink unicorn that poops gold bars, would be me showing just an empty living room, as an example.

What the actual heck am I supposed to do to report such an issue?

  2. You clear/reset your combat log after clearing your cache. I have it on a macro that I use after logging in, entering a dungeon, or after I die and res... It's not a new issue at all.

    The macro is below

    /run local f = CreateFrame("frame",nil,ULParent);f:SetScript("OnU pdate",CombatLogClearEntries)

This will reset and clear your combat log. I clear my cache about once every week or so to avoid having caching issues.

  3. 350 resilience is basically nothing, so a hit for 10k is nothing you should report.

  4. It's the lack of combat log from the player that would be the issue. I only wanted to know what ability hit me that hard.

  5. What class was it?

But, as I said, with 350 resilience it could have been almost anything.

  6. It was a Paladin. Also, I'm not going to argue, 350 is definitely not "almost nothing" but admittedly, it isn't high. If you aren't going to be productive with your responses, then go away.

  7. Combat log is unreliable. You need to 1) install a combat log fix addon and 2) to keep the combat log tab open for it to always work. Otherwise it cuts off at the worst possible time.

What ability hit you for 10k? With enough buffs and wings on, divine storm can easily hit for 10k and even more.

  8. Ye, paladin can "one shot" u even with 20k+ health.

  9. Are you sure you weren't third partied by a rogue whom did ambush. No combat log record, so it could be possible.

  10. Ye, paladin can "one shot" u even with 20k+ health.
When well timed, burst of ret is something to behold. In one GCD:

    DS
    SoR for DS
    Melee
    SoR for melee
    Rocket hands
    Chaos Bolt exploding

  11. It was a Paladin. Also, I'm not going to argue, 350 is definitely not "almost nothing" but admittedly, it isn't high. If you aren't going to be productive with your responses, then go away.
350 res is actually close to nothing. If you think actively engaging in pvp with such a low res will net positive results, outside of lowbies, you are sorely mistaken. If you don't want people to criticize you then don't post on forums. Telling you to get more pvp gear is productive.

  12. When a paladin casts his wings it's not only 20% damage imcrease, it also makes the paladins damage ignore a lot of different damage reduction abilities, holy power is also a type of damage that itself there is no resistance against, ontop of this, paladins do not have "healing reduction talents/abilities/spells to help them in pvp so their base damage is also of the higher end, hense why retribution paladins can have such insane nuke damage.

About the combat logg situation this have happened to me too, its well known on addons like skada too, to not include details close to players death, I donnu wheter its server lagg or input lagg whatever. (Biggest reason I use recount to check details about death's in raids instead of skada, even though skada is supposed to refresh whatever faster, skada is quite unreliable to trust when it comes to this, I even made a clip from my stream when I was healing on my hpala and spammed holy Light on tank on halion 25 hc, and he still died and I got the blame, they linked skada details of death and I showed the clip, last 2 heals that landed on tank was not even included on skadas details)

Rest assured though it's nothing impossible that he killed you that fast, end game gear and specially armor penetration makes classes damage sky rocket. Specially if they go with a lot of pve items or glass cannon builds.

I have full wrathfull healers I play a lot in arenan, stacking stamina and resiliance to the end of time and still it feels like they nuke me down WAAAAY to fast, "it is what it is".

It's roughly 25% resilience cap. Not high. Not "close to nothing." If you think 25% of something is "actually close to nothing" then you need to learn some basic mathematics.

  14. 350 resilience (roughly):

Reduces chance to be critically hit by 3.5 %
Reduces damage of crits by 8 %
Reduces damage received by 7.5 %

How is that supposed to save you from anything?

  15. I told you, I'm not arguing this. If you're going to make assumptions about other people's gear scores, then say that so we can explain that not all situations are ones where they're geared. New people play on the server (I've only been on this specific server for a couple of months, as an example), and not all characters are maximally geared, etc. Reduction of damage/crits/etc adds to survivability. If it didn't, then resilience wouldn't matter at all as a stat. Stop acting like what you're saying is objectively correct. It isn't. I openly admitted it isn't high. Focus on the objective idea like others are. You two are being functionally useless inside of this conversation, and I'm asking for the last time that you stop this silly, intellectually worthless aspect of the discussion. I told you that I only wanted to see what hit me that hard. When you factor in damage reduction, plate armor, and over 10kHP instantly disappearing, it's just curiosity. Believe me when I tell you that I fully comprehend how this game works. My comments should show that much. Move on.
