Revive PvP before TBC

My assumption is that both Honor points and Marks of Honor will be reset for TBC.

Maybe it would be worth to not reset it - and communicate that, so people have an extra incentive to already do some PvP while there is not so much other content to do.

Getting honor capped is fairly easy so long as you can queue to AV. A substantial percent of players interested in PvP/PvP rewards are honor capped already.
If honor isn't reset, everyone would be able to instantly buy full gladiator set as soon as it becomes available and we get the same situation when everyone and their mother are R14

You cant buy a full Gladiator set with 75k honor. You also need Marks, which is capped to 20 right now. So people will have to do BGs anyway.

It would also be great to not reset honor because most Mains are honor capped, which means people can start gearing alts earlier, and I bet my left nut that many of us wants to play more than one character in PVP.

not only that but arena points get added to the game!
ap takes time to build up..you spend ap on the best pvp gear.. so one cant buy whole sets day 1.

honor is usually used for off set items likes rings belt boots or the like.

if i remember right?the only time an honor set of gear is added to the game is when say S1 arena gear stops being sold for ap when S2 gear comes out and s1 gear is shifted to honor.

so arena season will have to be shortened to fit the time frame of the server
4 total season s1 - s4.. no clue how the devs will handle that?or how the gear will be sold?

i would expect a change to how AP works or the cost of said arena gear as it would take a long time to acquire a whole set.

how long is a pvp season planed to last?how long for the first tier of raiding?

pvp and pve have to be lined up

usually pvp season are like 5+ months long but time here will not allow that
so im curious to see how it is all handled

Merciless Gladiator's set only requires honor to buy, according to both AtlasLoot and Wowhead. I've never played TBC before and have no idea how arena seasons will be done on Onyxia, but the point holds. If honor isn't reset then people can just get gear for free with no effort and get ahead of others, which is an unfair advantage

Arena season 2 gear will not be available at launch anyway so that doesn't matter either way

how it was on retail back in 2007 onwards:

Prepatch reset honor and marks.
After that, there was no honor / marks reset on Outland release, no arena point or honor point reset between seasons 1 to 2 either. I dont recall if there was none during season 2 to 3, and 3 to 4 - but original tbc was quite a bit different compared to classic remake

Merciless gear is S2 im 99.9% sure about that..

S2 means season 2 so Merciless cant be sold for honor because it will not even be in game during S1..

current arena seasons like s1.. the gear is sold for arena points not honor during S1
past seasons arena gear is sold for honor example= buying S1 gear for honor during S2 as S2 gear is sold for AP.


your example of Merciless s2 gear being sold for honor would happen during S3, tier behind.

like i said above im wondering how arena seasons will work and the costs of said gear, as it takes time to get.
that would effect ratings on gear as well as time to get it
