Am I being an efficient hunter?

Hi guys, let's go, I play hunter in the 3.3.5a expansion of wow, wrath of the lich king, knowing that I focus only on agility and stamina as attributes, my priority is agility because I know I have a pet to be a tank. Is it normal to be at level 42, have a pet with 2206 health and I only have 1578 health, and be the one who saves me from confrontations being my tank while I am only dps?

Hello I don't remember what was my stats at lv 42 but if you wanna see if you are efficient look your DPS on dungeons, focus on agility until lv 80 and get some intellect too if you are a marksman hunter, stamina obviously it's important but you have a pet to tank the damage, if you are a beast master hunter then your pet can hit almost as hard as you as well but it's the same, you need to hit.
P.D: get slow weapons for more min and max damage

true, agility is the main priority until lv 80.
when u reach lv 80, you must aim hit rating cap (8%) so your dps never miss.
missing dps means no damage.

note:
if you're Marksman, for pre-raid gear I suggest to keep focusing on agility until u get the proper gear (iLvl 245++) then u focus capping armor penetration (1400) for maximum dps
