ok so, i was in a random dungeon with random people. playing alt feral druid, queued dungeon with all 3 roles checked (i am feral spec but i can perform all 3 roles in feral spec). got dungeon invite as a healer and inside tank is also feral druid. so anyway, feral item drops and i go need without thinking (its a low lvl dungeon and i am feral after all, and group knows im feral i told them) and people from group started calling me ninja and names? for needing on low lvl item which is great for my spec and which i equipped and started using right away. i would like a clarification is this ninja looting by server rules or not? if it is, why would anyone queue as healer in low lvl dungeons and get no chance for any usuable loot? playing wow for 20 years never heard of that kind of rules
Was the item for the role you played, a Healer? If it wasn't, then yes.
If it was a grey area, it depends, but considering what you're saying, that wasn't the case.
no it was a feral tank item, but my spec is feral, i queued for all 3 roles. i mean its a lvl 35 item and a dungeon...how much can i get banned for it with tbc just around the corner?

You can have 15000 different specs/roles. The role you're in it defines what kind of items you can need roll on. You roll for the role you were chosen in as, not for some other role you're outside of dungeon that nobody knows about. You got picked as healer, so you pick healer items, not feral.
The ban length is prolly 2 or 3 days with low level dungeons.
well that is very different from blizzard server policies on ninja looting and should be made more clear so everyone can be aware of it. first time i hear about it now that its too late. im gonna take that ban and miss important part of tbc launch which i am preparing for a month and not queue ever again in low lvl dungeons as healer or tank.
that kind of policies only punishes tanks and healers and adds up to already long queue times.why would anyone queue ever as one so that he can roll only on tank or healing items, in low lvl dungeons especially

Didn't you just queue three roles? You think if you queue as all three, you get to roll for all three. Explain me how that's fair.
I'm struggling to see how the policy is unfair.
You join as a tank, you roll as a tank.
You join as a healer, you roll as a healer.
You join as a DPS, you roll as a DPS.
You think being a tank, joining as a healer, then rolling as a tank is fair?
your point is valid at max lvl, but while leveling everyone uses dps gear and spec. why would anyone queue as tank or a healer then and limit himself to loot that is useless in leveling
Why would any DD or Tank do a dungeon with a Healer who will want to take the gear they are there for?
You're free to have your personal opinion, but it won't change how we run our servers.
Picking Need is for gear meant for the role you're playing in the dungeon, anything else is Greed, end of story.
Of course, it is your server and your rules and i respect them, BUT its different from general players understanding about ninja looting, and new players on this server like me have little chance of knowing that. I am playing wow for 20 years and it was always "if you need it and your gonna use it, need". At least in dungeons. For me, beeing acused (and even banned) for rolling on feral stuff while i am healing (and leveling) as feral is unheard of.
But anyway, doesnt really matter now, i wont do it again (hopefully wont get banned) and wont ever heal or tank while im leveling
As a player, it's YOUR responsibility to read the rules. It's not anyone else's job or duty to inform you of the rules. They are very open about that. Since nobody else has done it, I will. You NEED to read the rules that are posted. FORUMS>SERVERINFORMATION>RULESFORGAME> PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT https://forum.warmane.com/showthread.php?t=65037

From playing retail since launch, before personal loot rules were implemented, this is by far untrue. It was the same in retail. If you were a balance druid in a RDF rolling need on feral, you would be a pariah of the server and publicly known as a ninja.

Because you can't roll need on everything you won't que? Cool, I don't think anyone would want you in their group if your taking everything that drops. 90% of people don't do RDF just to pass time.
i have never played a druid before but for a warrior tank it is expected to roll on 2h axe if it drops while leveling in a level 35 dungeon. same for shaman healer. lost million rolls as dps like that never had problem with it.
but i dont wanna argue and get into bad mood about this server which i am loving to play on. I made a mistake and it wont happen again and thats it. asked stuff about server policies and thanks to obnoxious for answering me
Internet cut off at a bit unfortunate time. So I'll keep it brief, and reply to you on what you had written (and then edited out). You said something in lines of 'I'm fully specced feral needing feral gear'. You may've said something that that shouldn't be considered ninja.
Your fully specced feral joined an RDF as a healer. Your fully specced feral is expected to roll for leather healer items in that case, why? Because your fully specced feral was selected to dungeon as healer and that's all there is to it.

No, they aren't. They are expected to roll according to server's rules.
What's next, all people must pass all RDF loot to me, because I expect people to do so?

Guys, I say things that aren't true, I don't want to argue about it.
