Karazahn takes less than 90 mins to complete. Why are the blackrock raid quests designed so poorly where not only will it take forever but they're also ridiculous conditions? Why should it be HARDER to gear on the pvp server where all we can do is bgs/arenas?
Indeed, the current quests invite griefing. They should at least be designed to not interfere with focusing on winning a bg instead of 10 people trying to recap a base. Better yet, just add some arena quests? I don't understand why literally everything is about bg's in a supposed arena server? Just do a couple win 10 games over X rating.
I think what you guys did with custom quests is pretty cool and i appreciate it, think this might be a good idea generally, HOWEVER.
There are several major issues with these quests they way they exist right now:
1. First of all, they're WAY too hard for the reward. Defending 3 bases on AB took me 1hr+ and im even a rogue which are pretty good at that. And as pointed out by others above, some of these objectives ruin the experience of playing BGs whether or not you like them. u get a bunch of people running around trying to allow bases to get assaulted to then fight with their teammates over who gets to 'defend'. a bunch of people stuck in the middle of eots all trying to cap a flag. then some other objectives such are just plain too hard to. GL capping a flag on WSG as a class with no mobility in under 75s or winning AB with 5 bases. ive spent several hours to complete the first 5 steps and for what? for like a 1/12 chance on your item because u get 1 item only from the box, nah this is just ridiculous. needless to say i didn't get a single item. As an arena only player i would much rather do karazhan than this because it's actually a pretty easy and chill 10 man raid. Imagine doing this quest chain every week on 2-3-4 chars lol
Also the progression in difficulty doesn't make sense. You go from defend 3 bases in AB to win 1 soloq game(very easy). From win AB with 5 bases (reaaaaally hard without a premade and can still be hard with it) to collect every buff in wsg (piss easy)
2. The overwhelming majority of players on Blackrock are arena players. Most people who wanna play BGs are playing on Onyxia anyway. You're just forcing people that came to play arena to grind BGs for days. A lot of people are gonna quit because of that and usually once they do they don't come back. Imo it's fine to make people from blackrock play bgs to gear up but not nearly THIS much. Please remember that people are here to play ARENA :)
TLDR: i think the idea is cool and it could may be work but the way it's realized right now is really bad.
3's is dead and will be dead as long as there is no incentive. Right now 3's hour provides 10k honor, which is like 2-3 bgs, and only 1 hour during the entire week. 2's is a bit more alive, but since ppl are busy farming those really unbalanced quests on 1-2-3 alts, they don't really have time to actually play any 2's and just be farming pve gear hoping to get some drops. The time consumption in comparison is crazy. Ppl in full premades are stuck with those quests for 5+ hours, and even then, it's not entirely up to you. Like win AV with both mines, winning AV is not up to you or you 5 man premade. Win AB with 5 flags, a 5 man premade can't do that solo if you are focing good ppl. Those quests are the exact opposite of what PVE raiding is, where you actually gather a bunch of people that know what they are doing and you kill stuff, everything is in your Control, unlike being matched with 35 other people and hoping they actually perform. Instead those quests should be more oriented towards arena, where you actually have control, in 2v2 and 3v3, it all depends on your and your teammates skill. It would actually be similar to raiding. If you suck, you will not kill Prince or w/e and in here the equivalant will be you will not get the loot by not doing the x required arena stuff for the quest. Some easier bosses could have quests in general, that could be time consuming (like as mentioned before - Win X amount of bgs) but something that is general and not specific like win with 5 Flags. This is a pvp server, people don't want to be grinding bgs for weeks and weeks, and then doing the same on your alt. Soon Onyxia will stop doing bgs because they will have the honor gear and it will be just Blackrock doing bgs. Also, as ppl get more and more gear, every PVE run on onyxia will be faster and smoother, meanwhile here we are stuck with the same quest on day 1 and day 100. At least make those quests more arena focused so it promotes activity and not the other way around.
Also, the questline is suuuper non linear, one quest requires to win AB with 5 flags, and the next requires to get all buffs in WSG. It's like comparing Apples and oranges.
The current missions also have the problem of being a chain.
Maybe you can do the 6th mission on the first day of the week but since you are not at that point yet it won't count.
It is possible that the event of being able to kill someone wearing the buff in wsg will be almost impossible for you to replicate for days.
I suggest that you can at least take all the missions at once.
Also some quests can seem easy like get the flag in X bg but are VERY hard when everybody wants to do the same, having some freedom in the quest order could help.
