What are the chances we could move towards the new format where arena teams no longer are required? It just removes the annoying friction that comes with having arena teams completely.
People want to que, but since they don't want to leave their team and loose progress, they simply don't. That in turn, just ends up hurting the ladder activity overall. This new system was implemented in tbc + wrath classic and was greatly appreciated. Soloq already has this as well and works well, I can't see why it wouldn't benefit 2v2 and 3v3 as well.

Soloq Already has this, yes. but Soloq is also too toxic already, where you have to play along with other random people not knowing if you are going to get griefed/troll matches and dropping tons of point due to one clueless guy pretending to be good at pvp.
Also there is a misunderstood right there, what tbc/wrath classic did was that teams no longer had to deal with PERSONAL rating, instead. you just have team arena rating alone.

This idea is great! The problem is that you have to play for a long time to build up your arena rating, but if your arena partner or team leader goes offline permanently, you’re forced to start over from scratch. Blizzard has solved this issue brilliantly. Now, every player has their own personal arena team with an individual arena rating, allowing you to queue seamlessly with anyone from your group.

I support this suggestion because it would remove the necessity to do mmr dropping.
