Hi,

I’ve been a long-time, on-and-off player of Warmane, and I keep running into the same issue. I have several characters I’ve donated for but no longer play.

I’ve tried putting them on the shop, but they never sell, and they just sit there unused.

Would it be possible to introduce an option to “destroy” characters in exchange for a partial coin refund—maybe with a 50% tax on their value? For example, if a character were worth 1000 coins, I’d happily accept a 50% refund (500 coins) just to re-roll and start a new character for fun.

This kind of feature could help clean up inactive characters and give players like me a fresh start without needing to donate for entirely new ones.

Warmane is a old server. There are thousands of BiS geared chars that nobody has been played since years. Now imagine what would happen if ppl would be able turn them into coins. Nobody would donate anymore.

Without even touching the insanity of expecting a 50% "refund," why would we have any interest in giving out Coins to remove from the database characters that effectively belong to us, like is the case with any online game, anyway?

Maybe merge one character with another? For example you have a paladin on icecrown with icc/rs achievs and you have a paladin you transferred from frostmourne with naxx/ulduar achievs. Merge them into one with the achievements of all.

It's more like old players who donated consolidating their tokens. I would still donate more just like I have in the past with other accounts. I have no problem with it. I love coming back every 8 months or so and playing for a few months with a new toon.

I played M-Wow probably spent over 2k lost it all and it doesn't bother me at all. Just asking to suggest something simple for people who help pay for the servers. I'd even take a 75% tax haha.

It's disenchanting a toon.

Or heck let us price our toons on the shop maybe up to 25% off if possible, just to get rid of it.

I don't know just spit ballin tbh if it can't be done it can't be done the idea just hit me.

You can just delete character if you don't want it anymore. Or put it in barracks and forget it exists.

There's already a system that let's you get rid off of your inactive characters, it's called Trade. You even get some of the spent coins back if you're selling the character with items you've bought. You can even get coins when you sell them with BiS loot you've obtained yourself. On top of that, you get 30 coins alone from your character.

Selling it with all the loot you've ever obtained is hard, as there are fewer and fewer buyers as the price goes up.

The minimum price for a character is like 80% of the price it would cost you to straight up buy from the store.

There's always an option to just sell the character for minimum price. You just have to take into consideration nobody is going to buy useless clutter on a character. Only items he'd donate for anyway.

Your idea is ludicrous though. Being able to refund items forever (even at a cost) or basically turning ingame found items into coins is just never going to happen.

Yea I guess but that's why I mentioned a hefty tax. It's not normal for a 50% tax. I mean if someone spent 300 they'd only get 150 (about 6 items) back to reroll after that it would be 75% after that it would be 37.5 and then it would be virtually nothing. Or even a bigger tax just to give something back for recycling toons.

Heck, even being able to sell donated items back to the store for a 75% tax would be nice.

It could even go by the ranking of donations starting at 90 and working it's way down per rank. An extra benefit to donate even more!

But I don't care, I'm donating tomorrow haha, just thought of the idea while waiting for my check.
