Hello,
My friends and I wanted to have fun for a few days, we each created a new character, bought a lvl 80 boost + BIS Weapons.
The reste of our gear is ilvl 154, our GS is between 2.5k and 3.7k max (one of us bought 1 more piece than the others)
When we tag in Battlegrounds, people get extremely angry at us, and rightfully so.
The overall GS is usually north of 6k, and we get absolutely destroyed.
Someone told us about the BG Brackets, and from reading about it, since we are low gs, we should be put in low tier.
Anything we did wrong or can change ?
We are getting berated and insulted as soon as we step in BGs and then destroyed, it's not a great experience after each spending around 60 euros :/

When you wanted to demolish others, you got demolished.
Not sure if Item Misbuy is applicable here, but if it's not been beyond 24 hours since the purchase, perhaps you could try it.

Haha, we just wanted to have slightly better than 154 ilvl items which is what you get when you buy a lvl 80 boost :)
We stil have terrible ilvl

It's working as intended, and done so that people can't twink the hell out of the lower brackets. It used to be based on all around GS, and it was not fun. You'd have people with bis/close to bis weapons/trinkets oneshotting people who just hit 80.

Item level. It never was based on what some add-on says.

Just to make sure I understand: Having 2 bis items and just green items for the rest, with an overall or 3.5kgs means being put in 5.5k->6k gs bracket ?
I'm not an expert, maybe it's the best way to balance, but it seems odd. We probably won't buy anything again then haha :)

In theory just having one single bis item is enough to put you in the high bracket.

There are more than one criteria to get put into the high bracket, and they are liable to be updated if new ways to abuse some item happens - often along with whoever did it being sent to high bracket, no matter their iLevel. On top of that, the low bracket is temporary for a character, eventually it will be "graduated" to the high one.

Having lots of kills is in no way shape or form a way to demonstrate skills. so why would you put people that just wanna have fun with people that just want to win?
