1. Help with daggers. How damage is calculated??

    Hi all,

I just leveled a Sub rogue and I was looking into daggers. I stumbled upon these two:
    https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=44703/dark-herring
    https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=4...merary-sticker

What I do not understand is why Dark Herring is giving me more melee white damage (421-554) than the Namlak's (369-506).

The latter has higher damage bandwith, is faster gives a lot more stats and the difference in crit rating is just 18 points.

    What am I missing??

  2. Think of it as you are wielding two spatulas IRL and you are hitting your pillow. Your right hand is your main hand and your left hand is your off hand.

The spatula on your right hand is bigger and heavier than the one in your left hand, therefore you hit your pillow a lit slower with it than your left hand.

The trick is, you can only use abilities with your Main Hand. The bigger and the heavier the weapon in your Main Hand is, the more damage you will do to the pilllow.

That's the logic under weapon speed in WoW. Even if the numbers are slightly bigger, your damage output is better with slower weapons in MH.

Same stats = Fast weapon < Slow weapon

  3. As a summary = Your SKILL/SPELL Attacks DOESNT CARE for your Attack speed/HASTE (your auto-attacks CARE!).
They only see how much DMG your weapon does and on which hand it is!
Main Hand DMG > OFF-hand DMG, ALWAYS!

To see it in action: just swap your weapons and whatch the DMG of the Namlak's getting A LOT HIGHER!
