A while ago I used to play on a private server, and now I'm trying to get back into it. I have a couple of doubts about Warmane:
Does the server have any plans to expand into future expansions in the long run? I'm asking because I'd like to follow the storyline progressively. That said, if it's not planned, I don't mind at all—I'm currently playing on a 1x rate and really enjoying the world.
Regarding the realms: what are the main differences between Lordaeron and Onyxia? I'd appreciate it if you could clarify the key distinctions.
There are no official plans regarding transitioning to other expansions (e.g. Cataclysm), only towards the end of WotLK (ICC+RS raids release). Then the server will most likely reset and characters will be able to transfer to Icecrown realm.
The difference between Lordaeron and Onyxia is that Lordaeron is a progressed realm with all raids opened up to the end of WotLK expansion (patch 3.3.5) and is in a 'static' kind of status - no progression anymore.
Onyxia on the other hand is a progressive realm that went through different phases of WoW - Vanilla, TBC and now on the first patch of WotLK expansion. In the future, more raids will open. The idea of the realm is to do content in the appropriate gear level so you get to experience the authentic expansion just like back when Blizzard released content.
So if I understand correctly, Onyxia offers a more authentic/"original" way to experience WoW, with progressive content that goes through Vanilla → TBC → WotLK, right?
That sounds exactly like what I'm looking for!
One more question (and please feel free to skip if it breaks any forum rules): are there any other servers you'd recommend that offer this kind of progressive, expansion-by-expansion experience? I know it might be a bit complicated to find, so no worries if you can't share that info.
Either way, I really appreciate your response and I'll definitely enjoy the game just as it is right now. Thanks again!
