On icecrown, it takes a lot of time to collect basic pvp gear, you have to develop a profession, buy gems for expensive money, etc.
This can take weeks or even years, while a blackrock player can put together a full kart in 10 minutes.
So it doesn't make sense, because 90% of the bg are blackrock players.

Blackrock is a pure PVP realm. No one is stopping you from making a character there and playing it.
If you want to play PVE content and also PVP, you have the option to choose another realm. It is normal that gearing on the PVE realm takes longer.

You really don't understand. What's the point of fighting against people who already have everything ready? There's nothing like that anywhere else. They never mix the fun server with the base server. Do you really not see a problem with that?
I want to play both pve and pvp with the same character.

Blackrock is the only reason there is an active arena and bg community. Without blackrock you would have way longer queue times than you already have. Like Vajcovod said.. you're free to make characters and play on blackrock if you and you're free not to and instead also get to play pve

This is stupid, I think you're playing a different game.
Then why don't you join a bg with a lvl 1 character where everyone else is 80? That's also great fun.
What should I do with a fully geared blackrock character on bg? I would play to farm pvp gear.
There's no pvp or anything on blackrock. If you like that, do it. But real players shouldn't have to compete with instant full gear noobs.

The problem is that there's something really strange going on with bg brackets recently. I haven't found any answers to it so I keep posting on these forums to see if anyone knows why this has been happening. A couple months ago I created new Icecrown characters with the intention to keep them low geared around 4.5k-4.9k gs to be put in the lower bg bracket (I just enjoy it more than my 5.6k chars being put in the bigboy bracket with full BIS opponents). It's been fun and worked as I intended up until recently. For some reason now there's a swarm of 5.5k-5.8k Blackrock players that are put in the 3k-5k Icecrown bracket. That went on for a while and now maybe something has been done to "correct"(?) it, so now 5.8k-6k Icecrown players are ALSO put in there, along with the 5.5k-5.8k Blackrock players AND the 3k-5k Icecrown players. So now essentially EVERYONE from 3k to 6k gs is smushed together into one big messy bracket.
Somehow it's even worse when there are HIGH numbers of players online on both Icecrown and Blackrock - I'd understand if this was happening when the numbers are low and there aren't enough people to fill each distinct bracket, but it makes absolutely no sense for this to be happening when there are lots of people playing. This has to be some bug or mistake, right? The magnitude of this problem is fairly new, it wasn't happening a few weeks ago. Anyone else notice this or know what's going on / what's changed??

If you haven't already I suggest you make at sticket in-game or record a video of it happening and reporting it as a bug. I see so many people complain about different thing on theses forums. Often about facing cheaters in arenas and if you have proof of them cheating or in your case proof of getting matched in the wrong bracket you have a higher chance of getting the warmane staff to do anything about it.
I have a question though. You say your gear score is low. But if you have 1 item from like ICC or RS you will get matched with the higher gear score bracket. It will happen even if the item is in your bags or bank I think. That's why some you face low geared warriors who donated for Shadowmourne for example

actually icecrown is the realm that ruins pvp in battlegrounds. Every player from icecrown has 6.5+ gs, killing 1300 resilience shaman with 2 swings. A very good idea would be to divide into groups 4-5k, 5-6k and 6k+ or to put a gs limit
