We've all grown into adults, at least age-wise. Unfortunately, not all of us have matured.
Where am I going with this?
Over the years, I've noticed a pattern across many Warmane guilds and Discord servers.
In almost every community, the moment you say something that a person in a position of power doesn't like, you're likely to face consequences. This kind of immature abuse of power creates one of the most unhealthy community environments possible—or, even worse, the complete absence of a community.
Let me share a few examples to support my point.
In many guilds and Discord servers, you can get banned, kicked, muted, or have your messages deleted for things like:
Using basic swear words like "Fck"
Asking why they're sending 10 @everyone pings for a ToC 10 Normal run
Pointing out to an officer that their Disc Priest friend should shield players who are about to get tombed during Sindragosa's air phase
Asking why the raid is pushing Heroic progression while bringing undergeared friends instead of geared players who were available
Making jokes about almost anything — apparently grown men, fathers, and husbands are just too sensitive these days
Using any form of sarcasm
Suggesting the guild does something fun instead of running ICC 10 after ICC 25 for the fourth time that day
Asking if you can join a LoD progression raid on your 6.5k GS character instead of an officer's friend who's sitting at 5.7k
And there are many more examples. Most of the ones listed above happened to me personally. I'll add more as I remember them. Feel free to share your own experiences as well.
The point is that there has been no place for Warmane players to freely chat without some loser deleting messages, kicking people from servers, muting them in voice chat, or generally acting like a dictator over a video game community.
And remember this: a lack of real-life relevance, importance, and authority makes that make-believe virtual pixel power all the more tempting for Discord mods.
At least, there wasn't.
Now there is.
Icecrown Hub is a community Discord where messages won't be deleted, people won't be banned for opinions (except hacked accounts or obvious bad actors), and everyone can express themselves freely. You can say what you want, joke around, disagree with people, and have discussions without constantly worrying about censorship, deleted messages, or being removed from the server.
If you're tired of walking on eggshells every time you type something, give it a try.
Share the server with your friends so we can build a place where people can actually talk freely without a bunch of overly sensitive people trying to police every conversation.
If you haven't learned which people / groups to blacklist I suggest you start doing that.
On alliance I blacklisted people knows as "beri", "happy", "boki" and anyone who advertises "stratosphere". These are some of the worst group makers I've ever seen in my life. And I will suggest anyone to not raid with these people if you want a clean, friendly run.
Honestly, I recognize Beri and Boki, and you are 100% right for them.
But the point here is that Discord admins, officers, Guild masters are very emotional and they ban you as soon as you write anything that they don't like.
That is why Icecrown Hub exists. A server where noone fears bans, kicks and message deleting.
