* In the WoW login screen, the game runs at 144 FPS without any issue.
* As soon as I enter the game world, the FPS become almost perfectly locked at 60.0–60.1 FPS.
* The FPS counter constantly moves between 60.0 and 60.1, as if some kind of limiter or synchronization is active.
* It does not behave like a normal performance bottleneck.
What I've already tested:
* Two completely different WoW clients.
* Different WTF/config files.
* VSync disabled.
* Various AMD Adrenalin settings.
* DXVK installed and tested.
* Different refresh rate settings (144 Hz and 120 Hz).
* Different graphics settings, including very low settings.
* Different storage drives.
Interesting observations:
* The login screen can reach 144 FPS.
* Other players on the same server report FPS higher than 60.
* The issue happens with multiple clients on the same PC.
* My hardware should be massively overkill for WoW 3.3.5.
* The FPS are not fluctuating naturally; they stay almost perfectly at 60.0–60.1 all the time.
Has anyone seen a situation where WoW is being capped at exactly 60 FPS by Windows, AMD drivers, DXVK, fullscreen behavior, refresh rate synchronization, or some hidden game setting?
Any ideas or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated. I'm especially interested in hearing from people running old WoW clients at 120 Hz or 144 Hz on modern AMD hardware.
