Basically.. I'm trying to get someone to convince me that I should in fact buy vicious gear lol.. I see no point.
1: BG's are usually faceroll for XX faction in any specific game. meaning whether i have 80k hp or 120k.. it's not likely that I will be the deciding factor. I have reforged for 5% hit so that I could CC properly to have some benefit to my team however.
2: Honor last I recall is bugged for kills. So trying to get kills is near pointless.
3: That ****'s expensive lol. Cheaper to get blues without resil, and nearly as effective.
4: Mostly number 3 lol.

the resil matters #1, your contributing damage also matters. the reason why BGs are so faceroll is because people think like you. Is it really that hard to farm prof and make the gear yourself?
I spent my first week after 85 just farming BS, making gold, and my own bloodied set.
I know Jyx got to 2.2k or even more a few seasons ago in bloodied gear. So do not underestimate the value of crafted gear.
It's never about the HP, it IS about the resil + the stats and damage it gives. SO look beyond the HP and buy the damn set if you can, or make it if you can't afford.

Crafted Resil is actually really good, It's actually better for some items than Ruthless (S10). Like Bracers, there are more stats on them.
You should really get some, I normally have a few items in my bags (Tailor/BS) and I go into BGs and I actually give people. IDGAF about the AH where people are out there just to make gold and be greedy.
I remember fondly I was in a BG, Me, Dombear, Grendalz on his Feral and Dempsey. Them two were both full PvE gear, Dombear was full Ruthless and I was on my alt DK in full Crafted BLOODTHIRSTY gear. Yh thats right, Bloodthirsty. I had 1.2k Resil the ****ty SC HC sword and my medallion. We came across a hacker (alliance gnome warlock) who grabed out flag, ported out of the map with it so we couldnt get to him. Anyway I took the flag. 1.2k Resil UH DK. I had my trusted healer with my and we litterally stood in mid outside our tunnel and tanked the flag there, in the hope the hacker would get bored and leave. 22 minutes later I finally die. Not after their entire team descended on me. Yes that 1.2k Resil and my Blood Presence saved my life on more than one occasion.

TL;DR - Crafted set WILL help, even if it mean stopping them from capping bases, or holding them off down the tunnel while your team goes to cap or even peeling from one of your healers. If your Horde I can make you a full Crafted Cloth or Plate set... Or if your Alliance I can make your a Leather or Mail set. Should you wish, Mats and gold mean nothing to me.

my main on sargeras for now will be my rogue. she got maxed jc, and almost maxed eng. [had them from wotlk.. so not gunna change them :P] i only have bold recipe so far, will make a bit of gold with it. i also have maxed herb/alchemy on my dk alt. just don't feel interested in farming lol. was more hoping to join a helpful guild that would like help guild members with crafted gear, and i'd in return help them with free transmutes/gems [with mats] until i became more stable, in which case it'd just be free completely.
also, ur partially right. bg's are faceroll somewhat due to people thinking like me. however, me changing.. is not going to change them. #factoflife. however, more reason why bg's are faceroll.. is because people suck, or don't play objectives. i guarantee 95% of people in bg's never use focus targeting. in arena they just right click their lil gladius [or default blizz] arena frame to set a focus. they don't use mouseover focus [or arena1/2/3 which we won't get into since this is about bg's mostly].
and, maybe i came off wrong or somethin, but i am not undervaluing crafted vicious. i am well aware that the gear will beat out high rated geared teams in arena with less skill. and i was using HP as a reference [it's the easiest way to tell what kinda gear someone has equipped [minus the pve vs pvp thing.. but since i don't pve.. it would be gear i found while leveling vs. vicious craft gear :P] i have every class on warsong, 390+ ilvl. and as a donor, i tend to opt for t2 cata weps instead of pve counterparts [with few exceptions]. on my rogue if i stick with it as my main [example: find a good 3's team on it lol], i'll get the 2 piece t gear, but that's about it for pve gear unless legendaries come out.

when sarg was wotlk, i tended to make gold via the AH then spend it all helping new players that didn't know how to play gear up, as well as teaching them how to play :P like u, i enjoy helping.. but that's social, i don't typically have many friends in wow so no one to help me in return when starting out. i only have 1 friend on sargeras and she's new as well [lucky for her, she's a girl.. so she got helped immediately haha].
btw, i have similar resil to your dk. i'm chillen in full wrathful from wotlk, with sts dbw hc, and a few blue/greens i found while leveling from 80-85. as well as vicious rings/neck that i made from jc. gz on the damage though, but it makes me wonder.. there was a lot of pestilence spam in there wasn't there? :P i know dk ghouls are broken but cant be that bad i think.
im an alliance rogue, so leather gear would suit me nicely if you feel inclined to do so :) if you want, feel free to mail it to me [nazty] , and if u ever need anything with the proffs i listed above just let me know :P

for my dk.. 1 is NS/ shift 1 is Scourge. thinking about swapping scourge with festering since i use festering less than blood strike.
edit: so yea.. how was the dmg so high then? unless other classes were more bugged, or similar geared to u, or partially afk, or far from knowing how to play, ur dmg in that gear makes no sense to me atm lol. scourge strike isn't that great dmg wise.. without pestilence as unholy, ur dmg output should be easily surpassed by several.
edit: so yea.. how was the dmg so high then? unless other classes were more bugged, or similar geared to u, or partially afk, or far from knowing how to play, ur dmg in that gear makes no sense to me atm lol. single target unholy dk dmg isn't all that great and easily surpassed by other classes, especially if they're less gimped in gear than yourself. i dunno, it makes no sense to me for an unholy dk to have that damage.. oh, unless u were just manually applying diseases to all targets since u may not have been pestilence spec in the bg. i feel bad for t hat priest in the screenshot though.. priest is my main in retail, and been so since vanilla. his/her damage should have been much higher. but then again they could have been low geared and just spamming mind spike/mind blast combos and drinking all the time while only using sw death to try and score kb's. ok yea.. the priest part makes sense sadly :( well, they also could have been negatively bugged at that time too as well, i think i was on another server at that time. i left molten for a while with the rest of crysis. but i came back :D i missed the population here.
btw, you play primarily horde or alliance? don't tell me ur horde names, i have a habit of enjoying targeting my friends [or people who are nice to me] in bg's. i know that sounds weird.. but i like giving people a challenge.. and at the same time, i also make sure to leave them alone when they're being jumped by several of my own team since that's just unfair, no challenge in being raped, just a waste of cd's that would be better used upon resurrection if u expect to be in combat again shortly :D unless ofc ur goal was to delay them as long as possible like waiting for a flag to cap :D anyhow, see yall in game.

If your skilled a full vicious crafted set will allow you to cap conquest every week, removing the need for bgs entirely.

The ruthless set is still way superior to the vicious one and BGs let you get the weapon aswell without waiting 2 months for the CP resets.

pardon my ****ty actions bars.. i haven't set everything up fully yet. also did arena today, only lost 1 match. partially lost a 2nd match but won it. was facing 140k+ hpala and 140k+ fire mage with rathrak and cunning. killed the mage [my partner is 134k hp disc].. then pala ran around laughing that i can't kill him while he's oom so i must be nub. yet i couldn't catch him half the time [lag, no speed enchant on boots, don't use quickening either.. did i mention lag.. like seriously, whoa.. i always ended up casting an extra backstab or 2 before my finisher @ 5cp.. stupid laptop].. got him below 5% a few times, unfortunately my priest friend isn't using sw death glyph i think [oh.. and i'm missing glyphs :D], and was oom those times. sadly, a fear dropped the pala below ground, and we ended up winning due to that. and yes, i said sadly.. i hate bugs, even if he was a jerk :D speaking of fear.. I HATE FEAR PATHING.. if i was a caster, i'd be more ok with it :P
i don't see too much point spending crazy amounts of gold that i don't wanna farm for. i'll enchant/gem my cata ****. no need to do it for ruthless, vicious, pre-vicious, etc. i'll get glyphs when someone offers them to me freely. i do wish i had vicious gear on my priest and lock though.. mana's a pain. and yea.. no need to worry about upgrading daggers.. i aint high rated yet, only 1800'ish mmr as well. healer teams usually give me trouble due to low dmg output.. but cc chains make up for most of that for now. and the screenshot shows i can hold my own in bg's :P oh.. and my dbw/sts hc are win :)

Rogues can be fairly usefull even gearless on maps like AB mainly thanks to Sap. Its probably the best class to play gearless.
But thats not an excuse to not craft your pvp set.

Hordes were really bad just a few hours ago as I was farming honor on my dk.
Most low ilvls without crafted gear just don't know their class and get one shotted without doing any damage. I've seen you in several bgs and you have the skill to do well (out damaging my gurthalak blood dk lol), and this will only get better as you get your ruthless pieces.
Unlike most ppl running around in greens, rogues and skilled ppl like you are exceptions where gear doesn't matter much in bg. However, if you aren't skilled at your class (I mean you don't have retail experience), you should craft vicious gear or you will be frustrated at constantly dying or holding back the whole team.
