1. Urban Exploration

I do a lot of urb'exing (crawling through abandoned buildings).. I try to be artsy and take neat pictures.

    Will follow for follow <3

  2. Wow that's pretty amazing. I wish I had such an exciting hobby. Ever gotten into dangerous situations? I can imagine that some of these buildings, being abandoned, aren't maintained at all. Also the only suggestion is that I would love to see these taken with a better camera.

Personally no, I haven't been in any dangerous situations, though I know a friend who got cut pretty badly and I have another friend who knows someone who had their camera equipment jacked (which brings me to my next point). I prefer using my cell phone to take pictures than a DSLR primarily because if something were to happen (get robbed/equipment broken/whatever) I would rather have it be as little of a loss as possible. Since this is Detroit we are talking about, it can be dangerous but usually isn't (just have to know where you are and what areas surround you). Instagram kind of gimps the resolution/quality of the photos, they're much better looking at full resolution (http://cheatedinmath.imgur.com).

I take basic precautions though, I *always* bring water, I *always* bring a flashlight, sometime's a snack, and a working cell phone.. Also I *never* go into fire damaged buildings, because I really don't feel like falling through 4 stories.

  4. That's pretty cool. Keep at it! I'll be checking back now and then :)

  5. Looks amazing man!
Much respect for going there to share these awesome pictures.

<3 thank you! Though I do have to admit that I do this mostly for myself haha.

Eventually I'm going to start selling prints of some of my best photos, supplemental income is always nice.

  7. Looks amazing indeed!
I don't use my instagram anymore otherwise I would definitely follow you haha.
Keep up the awesome work bro!

First, I am not sure what this thread has to do with WoW or Molten, but I do have a suggestion.

Since you use your phone, especially if it is Android, you can have the photos auto upload to the internet so that even if your phone is stolen you will still have the pictures you took. Thank God for 4G!!!

  9. Just checked detroit on google. They literally made africa out of it.

  10. Took a look at this picture in your Michigan album, pretty cool http://i.imgur.com/lnAUzaI.jpg.

That's why I'm posting in the "community creation - art" section of the forum haha. Yeah, that's a good idea, though the phone I use to take pictures with doesn't have cell reception (but has wifi if the signal exists and I can connect to it). Since there's usually no wifi in or around abandoned buildings then I'm kinda S-O-L.

Yeah, that school was pretty neat, that was in Pontiac which is kind of close to Detroit, they shut down around half of their schools due to budget problems (bad for everyone except people me =\ ).

  12. Very nice pictures! Some places would be amazing for photo sessions.

Yeah, they happen pretty frequently but people aren't what I want to take pictures of =D

It originally started off as just a reminder of places I've been but then I started really liking the pictures and took more haha. I love exploring more than I do taking pictures, sometimes places are so big that you could take pictures the whole time you're there and still not get half the building. Eventually maybe, I'm not sure but I might end up getting a cheap DLSR where I can get better night time shots because that's usually my focus. Might try selling prints and saving the money from that to fund a camera, who knows.
