    Help.

Hey I'm a little new to WoW, and would like a little explaining if anyone could bare with me. I am familiar with some terms like aoe, (area of effect) ilvl,(itemlevel) and other stuff. However I hear a lot of things I don't understand so well. Such as cooldowns, rotations, and proc. My geuss for cooldowns is that they are bigger or more powerful moves that have a longer cooldown time? I have looked for sources for an explanation but they give me more of an advanced look at it. Maybe a helpful guide link or introductory video would be greatly appreciated! :D If someone could explain rotations a little bit, like I know its a cycle of moves, but every video or guide I look at say do a million things at once when procs (programmed random occurence) happen and I get really confused. :( Also any addons you guys have or use for warmane currently would be greatly appreciated. :D

A cooldown can be anything that you have to wait for to use again. So if you have a spell or item that you used once, but have to wait 3 minutes to use again, that would be a cooldown of 3 minutes. So your assumption is right, the bigger and more powerful moves have a longer cooldown.

A rotation is indeed a cycle of moves. Depending on your class and expansion this might seem familiar or totally alien. But in general if you were to be an arcane mage, the easiest spec / class in Pandaria currently, your rotation would be: Arcane Blast->Arcane Blast->Arcane Blast->Arcane Blast OR Arcane Missiles -> Dump stacks with Arcane Barrage.

As for other kinds of terminology or an extension of what I told you here, you can visit any of the links below.
