1. Overall performance and stability on Macbook

So basically, the thing is that I am thinking about getting a Macbook Pro 2015 version later this year for a number of reasons and since I don't play video games that much, I am not looking for a gaming laptop. But there are some questions regarding the performance on such device while playing WoW, mostly WotLK expansion. I haven't found any topics here on that subject aside from the old connection guides, so I decided to create a new one. Hopefully someone will be kind enough to answer some questions which are actually quite simple: is it possible to play on Mac on Warmane? what are some common problems for Mac clients? are there any specific bugs that make gaming experience unpleasant? what can you say about the performance and fps you get while playing on different expansions?
The WotLK expansion is pretty old, I don't think there can be much problems because of the specs of the laptop but I've heard about some complaints because of Mac clients themselves.
Hope that someone can help me with those questions, since here must be some Mac users, obviously.

  2. Wotlk realms support Mac client and there don't seem to be much problems. Except a bug that makes Mac client unable to join any chat channels if that's not fixed yet. And some people were having problems with launching Mac client. I am not using Mac myself and this is what I have seen in forum threads about it.

If you are planning to play MoP it might not be a good idea to get Mac since MoP realms don't support native Mac client currently.

  3. Like anyone0 mentioned, our MOP realms don't have a native client but you should be able to play Cata and WoTLK with no problem on a Macbook, especially if it's the pro retina (that's what I have).

  4. MoP is probably the only expansion I don't really want to play, for some reason.
    Thank you for your answers.
And what about the fps side of this whole gaming experience, is it at all possible to get stable 60 fps without going down to low settings?

if i remember correctly, as long as you're either using, or not using fullscreen the FPS will be pretty alright =)

and also, to the people who have an answer, is it in no way possible to play MoP on a macbook?

That bug was fixed. There are no problems with the WoTLK client at all that I know of now

Compass seeker, how are you playing mop on your retina macbook atm?
