    Cataclysm Connection Issues

I'm trying to get my mother into the game on her computer. We just downloaded the client and everything, but each time she tries to get into the game, it takes her to character creation, and then after 30 seconds, disconnects her from the server. I tried to log in using my account on her computer and it does the same thing.

She has the following specs on her computer

    AMD DuoCore [forget the specifics]
    Radeon Graphics
    4 Gigabytes of DDR RAM
    Windows 7

which is strange because that's the same specifications on my computer given the fact we both bought ours identical.

Are you connecting through wireless or wired? If wireless, try a direct wired connection. Check the drivers for your network interfaces (from the manufacturer's website).

Also make sure WoW is allowed through the firewall. See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...#1TC=windows-7

Yes, using wired connection.. turned off Windows Firewall as I have Webroot Premium with all the bells and whistles installed and that didnt remedy the issue

Try disabling Webroot for testing, it also has a firewall which could be interfering

Tried that... Might it have something to do with the router? Would she need certain ports opened?

Are you connecting at the same time with both computers? You can try forwarding these ports:

check http://portforward.com/ for a guide with your router.

You may also want to try enabling/disabling UPnP (on the router)
