A few days ago I started downloading the new LK client with WoD models. I was downloading it using µTorrent and of course the game was in a different folder than the torrent download, so that they don't interfere with one another. But it did not seem to matter and somehow they did interfere - after I've launched µTorrent I could not log into old client anymore - it just showed "Connecting" then "Unable to connect" and a Battle.net link after that.
I've managed to find a remedy for this - after every use of µTorrent I would have to restart the computer and delete the realmlist.wtf file, then I created a new one and wrote set realmlist logon.warmane.com inside of it. From then on it worked as long as I wouldn't start µTorrent, and the same fix worked when I started using the new client.
But yesterday I tried to do the same and couldn't. No matter if I use µTorrent or not, and no matter how many new realmlist.wtf files I create, it doesn't let me log in. I've set both Windows Firewall and my anti-virus firewall to allow Wow.exe traffic in both directions, but it did not help. Please help because this is becoming very frustrating, having all the necessary game data but not being able to do anything with it.
Information entry is correct, I'm trying to log in with the same parameters that I used before. So I'm using my Warmane account name and starting the game by a shortcut to Wow.exe and not Launcher.exe. I've deleted all I could find and now I'm re-downloading it to see if that helps, but still I would appreciate if someone could shed some light on this:
If my whole WoW folder with all necessary files and sub-folders are on C: partition, and it does not require installation - why does a new client download (on partition D:) have anything to do with the folder on C: and why does it interfere? I have only started experienced this with the new LK client (the one with WoD models) so my question is, is the new .exe rigged to try and find other files on the computer, or what?
