I was wondering if it's viable the survival spec from pve to pvp. My guildmates told me that the best spec at the moment is MM but i really like SV playstyle.

For PvP your play style will vary of course. Otherwise Survival is based on luck and not good for PvP!

lol based on luck? please dont listen to what this dude said. Anyways SV is a nice spec for arena i went 2.6k with it as rdruid hunter last season it does crazy amounts of damage when you get those LnL procs (100k+++ dmg with those procs) but overall MM is better because of silence shot and it will even scale better with prideful gear

Yea I agree MM is better, cause of silencing shot and more controlled burst, with SV the dmg is good but you depend on procs too much + you need to keep BA + SS up which is easy dispelled unless you play with affliction lock.

yeah i know that too and it should be true in theory..but here i see 90% MM and 10% BM..is SV bugged on warmane or somethig?

Telling a gladiator to shush #logic.
Survival has no dot protection. What this means is, one purge and boom goes all your dots. It's also a bit of a gimmicky spec since MM is more balanced, and BM is easier. As such players will either take the balanced spec, or they will go with the easy one. There's no real REASON to use Survival other than to use it for fun.
I'm not sure for PvE though, since I only PvP

Yeah no dot protection on SV is a *****, but it's not as bad as it used to be. Now defensive dispels are on a 8 second cooldown and Black Arrow isn't a huge damage dealer anyways(it's here mostly for the lnl procs). Another reason why SV is a bit lackluster compared to MM is the fact that it doesn't have a blanket silence. Hunters are great in arena because of their long instant cast CC chains. Sadly you really can't follow a CC chain with counter shot as it leaves room for instant casts. Also for example with the counter shot you can't try to deny a pain supp. on a priest if/when you are tunneling him/her with your arena partner.

Survival is for me very good for pve,i played it on Lk,Cata and Mop for testing,You need to be expirianced with that spec,traps are the biggest part in game with SV hunt,but I rather preffer BM for pvp and Pve,idk why,but I play BM hunt for 5 years,so I love it so much,and bursting,u use 5 spells,and player is dead :-D
And you can tame amazing pets with heal,spiritbeasts are best for pvp and pve!
