I wondered if it was possible to download wow as having the french language

save a backup copy of your config.wtf in case bad things happen =)

open your config.wtf in notepad

change the line that reads:

SET locale enUS

to instead read:
SET locale frFR

start the game up. it will, theoretically, download the french language pack and work. if it downloads the pack but does not, check options for language french.

if horrible things happen, copy the old config.wtf back.
