1. PVE Servers - Leave your opinion

Hello guys, I'm trying to gather some feedback here.

I've never played retail. I don't give a tiny rat's @ss about PVP, only PVE and the lore of Warcraft.
With that in mind, I wonder about PVE servers.

See, I think I've heard somewhere that retail HAD or HAS PVE servers, but never went there to check it out. Do they?

    And if they do:

    1) How is it? Populated?
    2) Warmane/Molten has ever had PVE servers?
    3) If Warmane launched PVE WotLK, would it be decently populated?

See I don't mind paying 15 bucks a month, what I mind is waiting 2 hour to complete a quest cos there are thousands of players in the server and dozens doing the exact same quest I am. Dunno if this is the case there but I assumed it is and that's what kept me away.

That and the fact that after WotLK everything was dumbed down so the average joe can understand the game and play. I like complex games that have a 900 page manual included, so I refuse playing anything past WotLK in terms of expansions. Again, this is something I've read from other players countless times, I've never tried it myself. I may try Cata and MoP later on just for the sake of curiosity tho.

You may leave your opinion about this last statement as well. I may be wrong and if I am, I'd like to know.

    Thank you!

  2. 1.) Blizzard PvE realms are populated but I believe less preccence then mixed or PvP-realms.
2.) No, and don't attempt to suggest it since Warmane's rules are very strict arround this.
3.) Most likely yes, lots of people QQ about gankers...(I don't know if you get a nice playerbase tho...if u alrdy qq about ganking...)

  3. thats where this server seems to be headed direction wise . just look at the vote points uy gain for acheievments really? pvp in bg's not many achievements but dungeons alot so those that pve gain more player points

That's how the game is, actually. It is a PvE game with a PvP mini-game added to it. PvP happens a lot, but there just isn't a whole lot of PvP "content". Besides, we don't want to encourage honor kill exploiting. :)

  5. Retail has a lot of PvE servers, it's just a matter of picking a populated one. You're best asking on their forum. Also you don't have to wait for 2 hours to complete a quest. Most people on Retail are already max level and they mostly level through dungeons. So you're good there. Queue for a dungeon (if DPS) can average about 10 min to 2 hours. So if you want fast queues, roll a tank or a healer. But do make sure you know what you're doing if you roll a tank.

  6. yes retail has them, no warmane doesn't, and most likely never will.

  7. Everything you need to know about the population of each realm and specific types of realms.

if that is your sentiment, why aren't there any PvE servers on warmane?

  9. That is a good question. From what I've seen, there's not enough interest within the staff, and we're not prepared to put forth the amount of resources required for that sort of thing. Right now, we have too much invested in Lordaeron. Perhaps sometime in the future.

or a healer. If you don't know what you are doing as a healer it can be just as devastating as a tank not knowing what they are doing.

Also, retail has lots of PVE servers, in fact there are more highly populated PVE servers then PVP servers. Questing zones are not overcrowded at all, and dungeon queues are much faster then warmane. However, warmane is plenty populated, and I really like WOTLK over anything they came out with since, so I stay here.

  11. How is situation in STV, is it possible to quest there and not to be ganked 100times a day?

pvp in world of warcraft is a mini game?thats not true. city raids , bgs (and rated bgs) , open world pvp and arena :D thats not a mini game if u ask me for some players wow is only funny because of the pvp part :D
but tbh that achievement point systems is maybe not the best solution but the fact that banned people get 0.5 points less then other player is just awesome :D

Yes, it is true. City raids? That's stuff players do, not game content. Open world PvP? Idem.

You have Arenas and Battlegrounds that are actual PvP content. Now compare that to all the quests, dungeons, achievements, monsters, mounts, unique creatures and talents that are PvE. The difference in focus is massive. PvP is nothing more than one thing you can do in the PvE game World of Warcraft, which can easily be seen by the fact the the only difference between a server flagged as PvE and one as PvP is where and how people can attack each other. You don't get any extra game content at all when you go from a PvE server to a PvP one, just the ability to attack people more.

It's true, PvP is a side addition. Hell BG's wasn't a thing at the start of Vanilla, people that wanted to PvP on the side had to go out in the world and look for people to kill. Then Arena's wasn't a thing till BC and even then it was like...bad. Every class mechanic and talent is always made with PvE in mind, then blizz make small changes to balance it in 3v3 only. Plus you can only get 5 titles in Arena, which never changed (except for the seasonal glad, but even that is still the same template) and like 2-3 titles for RBG's (I never bothered with RBG's so I am not actually sure how many titles there are). Then you have a few side titles for x number of kills.
For PvE you get hundreds of titles which all require a variety of ways to get them. Not to mention they keep adding new ones with a new tier. Then also you got to think, when was the last time PvP had any new method of competitiveness added? Skirmishes and War games aren't competitive so they don't count, all there is are RBG's and Arena's, sure you get a new BG/Arena every now and then, but PvE get multiples of new raids/dungeons every major patch. PvE got Mythic mode with WoD, Flex with MoP, RF with end Cata and HC Mode in late Wrath-early Cata. What has PvP got recently? Ashran?(lol)
