1. lord video.

any way to permanently pause the lord video? it's rather annoying having to go through the forums in only 1 tab since multiple causes quite a bit of lag. pausing it only works as long as you don't change to a new thread. can't seem to find a way to keep it paused.

  2. Try ADBlock?
No video with ADBlock enabled here (firefox user).

  3. I find it hard to believe you can play a game other than Super Mario on a computer that does not allow you to have several videos open at once.

That sayd, AdBlock would be a good solution. (Or even better, uBlock Origin.)

2 tabs of Warmane site with the video playing use more CPU than wotlk client with ultra settings while staying in Ironforge. Since I usually have many programs open at the same time sometimes CPU usage reaches 100% for a few seconds. Without the video it would be at 60-80% at those moments so I am sometimes forced to close any extra tabs of forum or even all of them. (CPU: i5-3450, quad core, 3.1 ghz)

Edit: finally decided to get uBlock Origin and get rid of the video. But I don't think that a website should have an element that I don't even see most of the time that uses that much resources.

  5. Update: uBlock Origin only hides the video and Firefox keeps playing it so that's not a solution.

  6. You do not have to block the html element that holds the video, but the video itself. Add these lines to the uBlock settings, under "My filters"

    https://www.warmane.com/renders/lordaeron.mp4

That worked. (but only after restarting Firefox, in case someone else is reading this and planning to try it)

  8. was hoping i wouldn't have to download something, but will look into it.

  9. Who doesn't use an ad blocker nowadays anyway?

people who don't go on sites with lots of ads? i have like, 4 sites i visit on a regular basis. all game related. and they either don't have ads, or have ads that don't lag the crap out of me if i had multiple windows open.

It's not about fixing "sites with lots of ads", it's about removing ads and tracking scripts from everywhere.

Believe me, once you go black you never go back.
