uhh.... its no pve realm.
What sounds gross to you sounds exciting and fun to others. I doubt anyone can answer your question when you already make clear Lordaeron might just not be the server for you.
That was sarcasm. But i thought Lordearon was progressive, as in you were releasing content(raids) as guilds progressed. So like some other private servers.. that i won't mention. Also it's x1 rates.. what kind of end game PvP player is going to waste their time leveling ? But to each their own. If you enjoy leveling that much, and PvP... have at it! X1 rates usually implies PvE though, IMO.
If it wasn't clear enough though, i thoroughly enjoy PvP. I've played PvP in every expac, and enjoyed them all.. except WoD. I don't really enjoy leveling, although i don't mind it in Wrath because i feel like i am actually achieving something. Retail has made it such a vomit worthy grind, that it's not even worth the time anymore. And if you're wondering why i don't just play Blackrock ? .. Although i used to like AT, i enjoy having the RDF/Raid option available to me if i so please. I also do enjoy farming for dem' mounts, which is unavailable to my knowledge in AT/BlackRock.
I don't understand the hype, but for a different reason. Why would anyone in their right minds want to play a non-blizz-like, customized server (gear requirements, no rdf, etc)? Whats next, custom NPC's giving custom gear (to Donors, of course)? Leveling up to 100 (in an xpac that capped at 80)? Custom Regions/Instances, showcasing "Warmane's dedication to giving the people exceptional content"?
If you ask me, and I know no one did, but I don't care regardless, the New Lordaeron's a joke server, the kind I, and I'm sure many people, passed over while looking for the legitimate Blizz-like servers, of which there were few, Molten/Warmane being one of them (and the BEST one of them).
Understand, I'm not bashing Warmane, the staff, or members who play this "fun server" (let's call it what it is). I LOVE Warmane. They not only had a 1x server, but it was Blizz-like (bugs aside), and had a crap-ton of content scripted and complete. Most other servers RARELY had 2 of those 3.
In my opinion there is a very big gap between restricting content/features that were new in 3.3.5 and adding their own. They're two different types of non-Blizzlike, and the motivation behind the two is usually not the same (unless your aim is purely "WotLK as I think it should've been").
I myself am very picky with the level of "Blizzlikeness" on the servers I play on, and I can understand the motivation behind the removal of RDF for example - it was a late addition to the expansion, similar to having a Cataclysm server without LFR. It's a balance between tolerable bugs, tolerable custom features and population. I'd rather play here than on _______ where pathing has been extremely glitchy for at least half a year, the population is relatively low, and bug reports go unanswered for even longer - even if they try to be more true to patch 3.3.5.
That said, you are entitled to your opinion, but I fail to see how it's a fun server in the common sense.
Yeah, let's go back to a 5-talent-point Blessing of Kings and Divine Storm one-shotting people. Excellent plan! The real kind? Like the ones that did so on retail? lol?
thats retail. true progression. if you are going to label something progressive give it the right talents. so you are going to tell me that resto druids not being able to hit haste cap until maybe toc gear is a good thing? /sigh and thats only 1 class i know of im sure others out there wont be able to hit caps or things needed because of all the talent changes from 3.0 to 3.3.5
if people want to play here i have no objections just dont act like its TRUE progression or even resembles retail. its custom content at best or for those who havent caught on yet its like taking away all icc, rs, toc, ulduar gear and raiding in naxx gear on the other realms with less bugs ofc. still glad the core swap was decided, improved server is better for all. looking forward to a working DBS, PP, VDW and LK. just the fake hype and those defending a broken argument is absurd.
You know what they say, you can't please everyone...
If you wanna understand the hype - let me give you a hint. A lot of people who play on Lordaeron are the very same people who played this game originally when it was on this patch on retail, and they are happy to have to opportunity to re-live those moments at least partially. There's nothing fake about it, it's basic human nature. If you feel some sort of disgust towards hype, than that's just your personal problem.
Making threads like these is also completely pointless. Your intention has nothing to do with actually getting the answer to your question, but more with putting yourself above everyone else. It's almost pathetic.
It's not our fault that we stated we would release content progressively and people assumed it was "true progression."
Same with "hardcore." People make their own interpretations, and it get very tiring to keep correcting. I personally got sick of doing it.
I am provoking conversation, nothing more. You've misinterpreted what i am saying. Or somehow I've mistakenly misled you to believe that i think i'm above anyone here. I am actually probably one of the most down to earth people out there IRL. Although i can have trouble conveying messages VIA writing, so i apologize if i have said something that'd lead you to this conclusion.
Best regards
