1. Crash

    Good morning,
    Been googling for like an hour now, tried some solution from here and there and yet I can't login on a character I played once because of a crash. I also can't find the unstuck feature, has it been removed or what?
    This is the picture of the crash which is happening:

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance

    EDIT:Apparently I can't log on any characters at all. Same crash

  2. here is a guide how to handle Error#134: http://forum.warmane.com/showthread....79-Error-codes
    However if you guys are having this problem with Wotlk with WoD then download the "Wotlk old"

  3. I had read that thread before creating this one. So far I've:
    -Diagnosed my Windows for memory errors, there are none;
    -Scanned my PC for viruses, and it is safe as usual;
    -My drivers are updated;
    -Defragged and scandisked;

    I followed your suggestion now to download the WOTLK old. Stupidly, I uninstalled the updated textures client due to lack of space believing the old client would erase the problems as you suggested. It didn't, now I can't even launch the game, as #134 crashes before I even get to the login screen now.

  4. @XeonPT Same thing happened to me. I downloaded the WOTLK old again and now I can't even log in because I get a "unable to connect" notice. ****.

  5. I'm still unable to play. Should I give it up?

  6. You're getting that error because one of your .MPQ files is corrupt.
    Redownloading the client should have fixed it.

    Get HDTune and check your HDD for bad sectors. Reply back with results.

    Also:
    Post all the text you get in the dialogue box behind the actual error, the one where it says send/cancel.
    Have you defragmented your hard disk recently ?
    Have you scanned your computer for viruses recently ?
    Did you install any model editing mpq's or dodgy addons ?

    I already deleted the former client again, and I'm redownloading it as we speak (the third, consecutive time since this #134 came up). After the 1st client's error, yes, I ran a hard disk defrag, a full system scan with a top-quality, updated 2015 Total Security Anti-virus and no model editing/dodgy addons.

    This was the result of HDTunes' scan:

    Thank you for the attention.

  8. You have bad sectors on your HDD :-/

    Sorry to give you bad news, but you're going to want to replace that hard drive asap before it starts affecting your photos and other personal data... A good and cheap one should be less than 50$ ...

    If you have another hard drive in your pc, move your wow client to the other hard drive.
    Or you could try (on your own risk) running a error-check and bad sector fix as shown here http://www.wikihow.com/Repair-Bad-Sectors

    The point is that it's not the wow client, but your hard drive.

    Funny, the error-check for bad sectors you're suggesting... I tried to do that twice now, but since it was taking so long I just canceled it mid-way.

    My laptop has two hard drives, and World of Warcraft was installed in the second one along with all other video-games I have (exclusively), so it is not a threat for now. I'll keep World of Warcraft in the main hard drive for now and run a bad sector fix soon while I'm not using the computer (since it seems to slow it down heavily).

    I should have the client once more in 20 minutes, I'll update you soon. Once more, thanks for the attention and advise.

  10. Fresh client, opened from the download folder in the healthy hard drive. So I launch the game, blank screen and when the sounds from the cinematic start playing it just minimizes the window. No login music is played, though. Starting to wonder if it is truly my PC to blame on this regard, considering everything else seems to work flawlessly. As for WoW, three clients have been downloaded so far and if it doesn't crash or bug one way, it does another.

  11. Did you download directly to the healthy drive or did you copy-paste it ?

    Right click wow.exe, go to properties, compatibility, check run this program as administrator, apply and click ok.
    Right click wow.exe again and click troubleshoot compatibility, use whatever settings it recommends and report back.

    If that doesn't work, go to your WTF folder, open config with notepad and replace everything with this
    Code:
    SET locale "enUS"
    SET realmList "logon.warmane.com"
    SET hwDetect "0"

  12. I downloaded directly to the healthy hard drive. I always ran it as administrator before, by the way.

    In the meanwhile I was wondering if the bug could happen if the game was windowed, and not fullscreen as it is by default. So I googled a bit and tried to find the code to apply to the config.wtf file in order to turn the game windowed sized. Strangely, this was the solution. So, right now, I'm being able to play the game.

    Ah, damned long situation just to play the game. For as long as some stupid crash doesn't appear out of nowhere, I think I'll be fine from now on.
    Thanks for your consistent support Radvo. See you in game.
