Back in the days I love mutilate pvp, its more of my taste than sub. Somewhere 3.0.9 Muti/prep was one of the best talent for pvp, but after when 3.3.5 realeased everyone went for mutilate/envenom which I hate for the reason I cant CC my target because the deadly poison breaks my blind and gouge. So my question is that Muti pvp without envneom is still viable in duels/BGs/or arenas?
Yes, it is. And it will probably even be the spec of choice for Lord until later Arena seasons are released.
Here's the classic 41/5/25 build. Points can be taken from Sub tier2/tier3 into Relentless Strikes or Setup, depending on personal preferences. In Assa points can be taken from Imp Eviscerate, Blood Spatter, Ruthlessness, or Fleet Footed into Quick Reflexes. again depending on personal preferences and your arena comp. The rest is pretty much set in stone. 41/5/25 offers less damage than Envenom, but it offers far better control, thus it can be very effective when combined with a Frost Mage. The specifics of 41/5/25 is that most of its damage is actually physical (or bleeds when vs platers), thus you should aim for ArP. You already get 9% free from Serrated Blades.
Yes, by far. It requires crit for your Backstabs and Ambushes, and ArP overall. All of these are lacking early on. Muti/Prep has Cold Blood, which it can also reset with Prep for a second use. That's two consecutive guaranteed Eviscerates, which can pretty much **** up any healer in early seasons' gear (except Paladins, probably).
