Can't login. Says patch failed to update?

I downloaded the game and once I am in the game game it seems that I am about to create a character. What happens instead is that I get a updating patch or something. Fine. That takes 3 sec and then it wants me to press ''restart'' to update the game. I press that button and then I get back to login screen and it says it failed.

I can't get it to work. My friend just downloaded it as well and for him it worked perfectly'


edit. it forces me to update to 4.0.0

I'm having this problem as well. I don't know how to get it to update, should I try to reinstall it or is there an easier fix to this issue?

You should not need to upgrade your client. Are you logging in with your username (not email)?
Also, can you specify the client version you have?
