do i have to delete the game and download it again? (mists of pandaria)

if you have old 5.4.2 client WITHOUT WoD models then you only need the new "wow.exe" from 5.48.
so go here: https://www.warmane.com/download select "Mist of Pandaria" and when torrent start choose ONLY "wow.exe" (12 MB) to download, then place it inside your 5.4.2 and you will be fine.

If you have 5.4.2 with WoD models then you need to get a new client.
go here: https://www.warmane.com/download and select "MoP" for a whole client
Or "MoP minimal" for a 16MB installer which will let you play and download at same time
