Technical Sent mail, never arrived

So I sent a friend some gold and a rod through mail, but it seems it never arrived. He asked if I was sure I didn't spell his name wrong, and (if autofill didn't mess it up) I'm certain I didn't. His name is Maneti, my char's name is Tafirol, we play on Deathwing, WotLK. This happened around 15 minutes ago. Is there any way of checking my sent mails?

Mails take 1 hour to arrive. Mails only arrive instantly if you send only gold or if you send the mail to your own char on the same account.

I'm not intimately familiar with wotlk guild bonuses, but is there not also one that allows for instantaneous mail between guildies?

There are no guild bonuses in wotlk.
