WotLK Vanishing Reforged Quel'Delar

Long story short (I guess?) - I've got to the point where you need to "temper" sword inside FoS at Crucible of Souls (that funny shining chalice behind floating head so-called Devourer of Souls).I went inside FoS just to check if I even need to get to the end or is it bugged enough to do it right after entering instance. Game didn't like that idea and came up with pure evil plan. After "casting" bar of temper action was full, quest item dissapeared from my bag, and I'm left with not completed part of quest without a chance to finish it. So now I'm here asking if I need to perform rain dance for 3 days or I just missed something?

Abandon the quest and go back to the npc at sindragosa's fall to get it again.
