1. Read This, Warlocks

    Hello, fellow summoners.
Just sitting here, waiting out one of the endless login freezin' Warmane thingies and having just got deeper into lock for the first time, I have a question. There's no ,,it'' answer, I'm just curious about what you think.
Why do you think warlock is maybe the least played class here? Is it the difficulty level? Is it something else?
( I'm aiming mostly at the wotlk servers but everybody's opinion counts).

  2. I can tell as a PvP player...Warlock is "the least played" as you say only in Cata. I think people like to be powerful. If they ever start a Warlock, they loose some duels and just give up with a famous saying: "this sucks". Whoever wants to learn Warlock, he is probably gonna loose a lot of duels and arenas until he figures out how it actually works. After that, he will see that he can win just like when playing any other class. Also, i think there is one other reason, and that is "go with the crowd". They mostly see some common comps like rogue & frost mage, rpal & UDK etc... They rarely see some good Shadow Play and maybe they're like "what da hell, i m gonna play some commonly used class and I am sure after a while, I will find a good partner who wants to play with me."

  3. ^^^ that above me
i rarely play competitive arena and the main reason for this is the lack of time
when i have some freetime to play wow i would rather spend it actually playing bgs and helping lowbies in arena than to search for hours/days for a proper arena partner

  4. So, I have a long experience on WotLK Ragnaros and Deathwing.

In PvE aspect, most people don't roll Warlock only because of the low burst they have, so they are mostly used about summons and support.
So since most of the crowd is top notch high burst DPS, everyone goes the same.

In PvP, Warlocks are one of the hardest classes to master, simply because of the amount of CDs, the pets, the curses, the DoT uptime, the Demonic Circle position, the gems, the stats, the spell priority, the glass-cannon style and the hard and rough mastering of the class.

  5. That's because warlocks have always been the high risk - high reward class of WoW. Ever since vanilla. Very few people are up to that and would rather prefer much easier classes, which give similar results. That doesn't really change throughout the expansions, it's just the way the class is.

  7. I dont think they re the least played class , i always see one warlock in every BG , and in rateds everyone wants an affliction to tag along. Dps wise , you rarely see ferals , shamans ( elem or enh ) i think theyre a lot less played but those classes have a high skil level at least in my opinion

  8. Warlocks are a hard and frustrating class. If you intend to play it you have to invest a lot of time and interest.

I learned warlock by watching every arena movie, every VoD of famous wotlk warlocks and sat on spectate NPC countless hours to view their game and copy their tactics. I advise you to do the same and not to expect instant results.
Here is my twitch channel. I stream constantly and I have some VoDs + my movie links there. http://www.twitch.tv/darkml

  9. It kinda coincides with the lore and the RP value of the class.

The outcasts who dabble in dark magics few dare to tamper with only to ascend in power through perseverance, to conquer and dominate mighty demons of destruction all the while getting fearful and loathsome looks from the common rabble and fellow, competitive, warlock peers.
Or meet their demise at the hand of powers they cannot control.

    I like that.
