It's been almost three weeks and Call to Arms didn't took place, leaving all the PvP community wondering about the Warmane's deisgn and project toward the PvP content. If you didn't pay attention to the battlegrounds since the very beginning, you can find some useful information about the state of Call to Arms and its evolution.
The Beggining - Vanilla Content
When the realm was released,Call to Arms was working as intended, respecting the calendar and lasted from Friday to Monday night.
The Burning Crusade
After the Burning Content was released,Call to Arms was removed and the honor system was nerfed, which made PvP less attractive. There was a post on the forum, where a staff member stated that they decided to make the community focus on leveling and the PvE content(which wasn't working at that time).
Wrath of the Lich King - December
After Naxxramas was introduced, the honor system was brought back to normal, but only for those who are above level 60.The players that are below 60 receive very little honor points, and this issue hasn't been corrected.
Call to Arms is back !
Along with the 60+ honor system restored,Call to Arms was reintroduced, but with a problem: the calendar didn't match the actual battleground we were called to arms, and also Call to Arms lasted for one less day than it should work, ending on Sunday not Monday,as it should properly work.
Wintergrasp - The Present
Shortly after the Wintergrasp was introduced, Call to Arms got removed again, without any official statement, leaving the community without any information regarding this weekly event, whether it was a design change, like RDF or something that went wrong.
Removing the Call to Arms had a terrible effect on the community, as many groups stalled their process and some of them even started to plan ganking sessions on crowded areas, such as Redridge,Duskwood,Barrens,Hillsbrad and so on. It would be perfect to have Call to Arms back because it would awake the interest in organized and strategic PvP,especially at the lower brackets, and in the end the players would receive a truly authentic experience after taking part in such interesting events and more importantly would understand what PvP really means (not getting ganked by bored high level and then avoiding PvP until the end-game).
It would be a great first step if some staff member would decide to inform the community about this important matter.
This section is for those of you who want to negate this issue or to minimize its consequences !
This game was designed for both PvE and PvP,even if a small number of players decide to avoid one side of the game, this doesn't mean that everyone must experience the game the same way . Also, suggestions like ignoring the PvP until the end-game aren't grounded,as the leveling process isn't a speeding race, but an enjoyable process of understanding each aspect of the game.
Thank you for your time to read my post, may you be a staff member or any other player !
