Wrath of the lich king (old) and (new)

So i'm new to this privat server and i'm wondering, what is the deal with the (new) and (old) dowload at the client?
I know the (new) have the updated char models (i think) and all that, but does it have a major gameplay change? can i meet other people from the (old) client if i download the (new) and all that?

just wondering, tried to google and look for answers, but din't find anny :(

only difference is the models, and they can be a bit buggy. all players access the same servers tho.

ah okey, but is the new models worth it? i like the new models and all, but i can live with the old stuff. so just wondering?
and is the old version used most by the player base? or?

i honestly have no idea. personally don't care what my toons look like so i never bothered with new models. and far as i know there's no real way to tell if the majority use the old or new models. all i can say is try em out and see how it goes.
